Three former workers in a "get-out-the-vote" operation were charged today with completing and turning in fake voter registration cards prior to the March 2001 St. Louis mayoral primary.

Eliza Julion. 29, and Paul Lamont Julion, 26, both of St. Louis, and Michelle Robinson, 32, of Rock Hill, face charges of felony vote fraud, Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce announced. The Julions are believed to be sister and brother, authorities said.

You realize, of course, that the polls here in STL were also open late illegally on a judge's orders...this is how we "elected" Senator Jean Carnahan (who by the way was not even on the ballot against Ashcroft...her dead husband was)...sheeese

As in all national media coverage, if the proported corruption was a Democrat, the party affiliation is dropped.

Tip of the iceberg is right. I'll bet there is 10% vote fraud in every major democrat urban area in the US. Stl probably pales in comparison to Chicago or New York.

And that doesn't even take into consideration the organizations that give out money and cigarettes to people on the street to go vote, which isn't technically fraud but should be in my opinion.

You also forgot that the lawsuit filed to to keep the polls open was fraudulently filed by a dead man. Yes, the plaintiff was dead. Too boot, the judge that kept the polls open had worked for Dick Gephardt. This stuff has got to stop.

Three down, tens of thousands of others to go. Whatever happened to all those college punks up in Wisconsin who OPENLY BRAGGED about voting multiple times (for Gore, I'm sure) in the last election?

Don't you know it was done for the "little people" who couldn't understand the voter process?

As I mention in most vote-fraud threads, just before the 2000 election, the Los Angeles papers reported that "authorities" had discovered 16,000 fraudulent voter-registration forms, 40% of the total collected by "three groups associated with the Democratic Party." Other counties, the papers said, "had reported similar findings."

At no time since has there been a single follow-up article, and (to my knowledge) no indictments, arrests, or trials--much less convictions--for these felonies.

They changed their stories after their college (Marquette University) said they'd expel them if they were convicted. There was no proof, although I'm quite sure that it happened. The problem is that Milwaukee has a Dem DA and Wisconsin has a Dem AG. Neither wanted to investigate. The woman from NYC who came here with a "Smokes for Votes" scheme for the homeless got small fine, only because a local TV station had her on video tape. It's a scandal.

Wisconsin allows people to register at the polls on election day with only a utility bill as proof of identity. No proof of citizenship. No proof of age. No proof of residency. Just a piece of mail with your name on it. It is simply outrageous.

I wonder why the St. Louis Post Dispatch didn't make not of the political party these criminals were working for?

The voter is allowed to register at the polls in Wisconsin with little to no identification. Then a follow up letter is sent after the election. There were at least 5,000 new Milwaukee voter registrations returned by the Post Office after the election as "no such person". This does not count the fraud that was perpetrated in Madison or other Dem strongholds. The Milwaukee polls were held open several hours late too. Bush lost Wisconsin by 6,000 votes.

A college student could vote absentee in his own home town and again in person at his college address(es). No one would be the wiser because these are not cross checked. All you need is a piece of mail with your name on it.

H*ll; the state of Maine can top that. You can register to vote on election day with just YOUR GOOD WORD that you are a resident. This was designed to "get out the homeless vote"...after all, your local park bench or dumpster doesn't have a physical address. This came to light during a 'gay rights' referendum years ago...thousands of homosexuals poured over the border from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, et al to vote "YES!" for gay rights in Maine. (Never mind that those of us who live there were stuck with the consequences.) I had this insane policy confirmed for me by the local paper.

So in Wisconsin; I can vote twice? Once under my real name, and once under my pseudonym 'Occupant'? Cool.

I found this on their website...

Voting, Activist, and Political Sites

Rock the Vote is a youth-oriented site dealing with voting issues.

If you trust MCI with such information, you can register online at their voter registration page.

The U.S. Census Bureau has demographic information available (they also have a text-based front page )

The League of Women Voters has an extensive website available

Who Cares is a national quarterly journal devoted to community service and social activism.

The official Democratic National Convention Web site...

That should tell us all we need to know !

Are you from St. Louis/MO? Someone needs to ask the paper Mark17's question of them, assuming people register by party in MO.

That truly is egregious. I've been complaining about Wisconsin for the past 15 years to deaf ears. Our city clerk even says that it is against the law to ask if they are citizens. This is just crazy!
