Yeah I was a three deep owner of a Hylas 54 for a while and when work wouldn't let me sail as much as I wanted I sold my 3rd.........Huge screw-up on my part.
As to being too old, heck best part of sailing is always fixing , tinkering or improving a boat. A friend has an older packet boat he's trying to bribe me into buying .......... I guess if the salt mine boss piss's me off then I'm going sailing regardless of whats ready or mine :o) You need crew ? I like the dog watch ......
Stay Safe !

I'm sure Attorney General Ashcroft will prosecute this rogue FBI agent.
To: one2many
He also declined to comment on whether the agent has been assigned to desk duty pending an investigation of the shooting. Nor have FBI officials released information about how the shooting took place.
"It's an ongoing investigation, and under most circumstances we do not give out too much information," Maddox said.
Oh goody!!! Another incredibly competent and revealing federal investigation! Surely this will solve everything.
This is ridiculous. A federal agent shoots an innocent man in the face and all the FBI can offer in explanation is "there is an investigation'.
I've heard some reports that Schultz was cuffed and laying face down on the ground for quite a while before the EMS was even contacted, this while his girlfriend was screaming for help and the cops/agents were casually standing around, even laughing.

He shot him because he was an incompetent buffoon... a real live Barney Fife.

Another incredibly competent and revealing federal investigation! Surely this will solve everythingThis is one reason I have to chuckle when someone says, "we can't judge until we have all the facts". When do they think they will get these "facts"? Not in our lifetimes!
To: editor-surveyor
It was an accident. Don't tar all LEO's for an accident committed by one.
To: Delbert
A Barney Fife would have the normal human kindness, or at least respect for duty, to call for an ambulance once having calmed down after making the accidental shot, and handcuffing the "suspect". How many agents were there? Not one of them could call immediately for an ambulance?
Would have meant not whooping it up so much, I guess.

Thanks for your input !!

I think that that hypothetical civilian would be riddled with about 500 bullets, considering what the penalty for "reaching for your seatbelt" is.

Hey, nothing wrong with a big old RV, AKA the "Land Yacht".

If Schultz was black, Baltimore would be ashes today.

I built a 48' steel cutter from scratch, but I was 12 years younger. Today I'd do what you said to save a year or two or three (depending on the size, condition etc of the project boat).

Good point.
To: Donald Stone
Thank you- I hesitated to add a word, as these shoot/no-shoot situations are fraught with peril- even the participants and witnesses often don't really know what happened.

", neither is the whole category of law enforcement people evil because a tiny number make mistakes."You missed the point entirely you "idiot"! (Your word) I realize people make mistakes. When they do I expect them to step forward and take responsibility for their mistakes. The FBI is covering this up and hoping to sweep it under the rug. That is what makes me angry.
If you want a government that is not answerable for its mistakes, then perhaps you would be happier living under a dictator somewhere. A pity the Nazis were not more successfull, you probably would have felt right at home living under them!

He was shot because the FBI is a bunch of Keystone kops, the worst law group in the world. Ya mean they are now worse than the ATF?

Let's also not forget what happened to William Cooper. I don't know if anyone truly knows what happened in the offing of Cooper. Let's face it; they had wanted to take him down for a long time. Maybe Ross is next.....

The FBI under Clinton/Reno became a murderous group of Civil Rights violating thugs, above the law.
Granted there is a war on, but Bush has yet to clean up the Democrat Party stench at the entire Dept. of Justice.
The FBI has been corrupted and now acts like typical vile lawyer scum: above the law and out of control. In a sense, the FBI, like the entire Department of Justice is filled with Democrat Party "sleepers," kind of like al-Queda hidden terrorist cells. Time to seriously fumigate the house of these disgusting low-life vermin.
