I'd say it's unusual in any upscale neighborhood these days. Most young folks don't know how to fix anything these days, let alone their complicated, computerized car.

I thought he had some kind of a classic car. It's not in the least bit unusual for the owner of a classic to be outside tinkering on it.

What gets me is that the neighbors seem to think that wife swapping is perfectly normal, and working on your own car is somehow abberent behavior.

Only in California, I guess. I wonder how many of those neighbors are hoping for a spot on Jerry Springer, or an interview with the National Inquirer.
