CAUSE OF GIRL'S DEATH COULD REMAIN MYSTERY

Police say they may never know how Danielle van Dam died, or when. The seven-year-old girl disappeared from her San Diego home February first. Authorities are now confirming that a child's body found by volunteer searchers Wednesday is that of the missing child. The district attorney says an autopsy performed confirmed her identity yesterday. The identification was made through dental records because of the condition of the body. Medical examiners are trying to determine the cause of death, but Police Chief Dave Bejerano says it's possible that we'll never know how, or when she was killed. A neighbor has been charged with kidnapping and murdering her. Authorities say they found the girl's blood on his clothing and in his motor home. He has pleaded innocent.

During one of their searches, investigators confiscated pornography from Westerfield's home. They cannot determine whether girls in the photos are under 18.

In what form were these pictures - magazines, videos, computer files? Why didn't he ditch these materials?

Think of this scenario. You are a child, asleep in your bed, and you awake to find your bedroom door shut. One time occurrence?

It should be an everyday occurence, especially in a two story home. Most deaths in house fires occur from smoke inhalations rather than heat and flames. Many could be prevented by the simple precaution of sleeping with bedroom doors closed to provide a barrier.

Damon VD's response last night was not a clarification, it was an about face......and I agree with many freepers that the guy has evil eyes.

Yes I mean IF there is some kind of history..complaint from someone....Only conviction he has I believe was 1996 for Drunk Driving..divorce cases are public and the media probably checked for custody battles/complaints....but Police had to have probable cause for warrant and that is what I want to see...

Closet Doors Removed

SAN DIEGO , CA - For the second time in as many days Wednesday, investigators returned to the van Dam home and removed more potential evidence. The closet doors were taken from Danielle's room. Authorities hope to remove finger prints from the doors.
