CAUSE OF GIRL'S DEATH COULD REMAIN MYSTERY

Police say they may never know how Danielle van Dam died, or when. The seven-year-old girl disappeared from her San Diego home February first. Authorities are now confirming that a child's body found by volunteer searchers Wednesday is that of the missing child. The district attorney says an autopsy performed confirmed her identity yesterday. The identification was made through dental records because of the condition of the body. Medical examiners are trying to determine the cause of death, but Police Chief Dave Bejerano says it's possible that we'll never know how, or when she was killed. A neighbor has been charged with kidnapping and murdering her. Authorities say they found the girl's blood on his clothing and in his motor home. He has pleaded innocent.

If it was at his business, it's very possible he committed the act at home, drove the body to the rv, stripped the bedding when he got back...I'll keep looking thru the news for a locale. IF the by-laws (if any) are online..it more than likely would say what can and cannot be in the driveway.

I originally thought he killed her in the desert when he got stuck in that strange location. I figured that's why he was trying to get away so fast..cuz he was either afraid someone heard the screams (if any) or fear of getting caught period.

I know your post wasn't to me, but one of hte news reports if not more than one did say he woke up at 1:30...and saw the sliding doors which are now in police custody.

I saw Damon say it with his own lips on AMW while the camera panned the sliding glass door (cracked open for effect). He definitely identified the smokers as if meaning the guests at the pizza party. Can you explain that discrepancy?

Another thing is that the mother claims she closed the kids' bedroom doors but didn't look to see if the kids were in their beds. If you look at previous pictures of Danielle's room, it is impossible to close her door without looking directly at her bed. It is facing the door in the line of vision.

1) Westerfield did not discard potentially incriminating pornography.

2) Why was Westerfield extremely confident of entering the van Dam's house, removing the child and carrying her probably in plain sight to a vehicle or his house?

3) Why did the police drop the burglary charge against Westerfield?

i wondered about that too. I just presumed she was already dead btw she got to the motorhome. No one knows if it was at his business. THere was one report where neighbors thought it was strange that he washed his rv in his driveway. If the by-laws (if there are some) say no rv's overnight..then I can see what he washes it at home during the day.

Kim, I recall the police took the closet doors from the victims bedroom, but I could be mistaken..yes it was in one of the reports he said 1:30 am..which makes me wonder which "party" he was talking about..(one before his wife & frinds got home?)Then it sets some kind of time frame...It is an interesting case, at first glance Westerfield looks good for the crime or else well set up.....tommorrow may be enlightening if they release the search warrant affidavits....regards...

Or he deposited as bound and gagged Danielle in the motorhome parked at his business and returned to find she had inadvertantly suffocated.

Perhaps he drugged her, or knew that the parents drugged their kids to keep them asleep during their parties.
