FBI agents searching for an armed bank robber pulled over the wrong car last night on Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena and shot a man in the face who had no connection to the crime, authorities said.

The 27-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was flown by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and is expected to live.

"Anytime anyone gets shot, whether it's the right or wrong person -- we are traumatized by it as well," said FBI spokesman Peter Gulotta. "This is not something that we like to see happen. The circumstances will be thoroughly investigated."

Just another example of a decaying society when FBI shoots first then asks questions. I'm also sure the innocent victim is relieved to know the FBI is sorry for the mistake.

"How about his God given unalienable rights?"

AH HEM...and I'm probably going to shock a few FReepers by saying this, but it's a truthful observation:

That depends on what your definition of "civil rights" is, doesn't it?

Yes, it's me, and my mind is just as sound as it's always been.

"So, to say "he was lucky" is, basically, sick."

I agree. Even if the bullet somehow missed exploding his brain, he is gonna be seriously ugly the rest of his life due to his exploded face.

What is an M-4

M4/M4A1 5.56mm Carbine

M4 Carbine

The M4/M4A1 5.56mm Carbine assault rifle is a lightweight, gas operated, air cooled, magazine fed, selective rate, shoulder fired weapon with a collapsible stock. A shortened variant of the M16A2 rifle, the M4 provides the individual soldier operating in close quarters the capability to engage targets at extended range with accurate, lethal fire. The M4 Carbine achieves over 80% commonality with the M16A2 Rifle and will replace all M3 .45 caliber submachine guns and selected M9 pistols and M16 rifle series.

The M4A1 is a compact lightweight weapon that is a modified M4 carbine. The M4A1 (SOF Variant) carbine difrrers from the basic M4 in the following features; full automatic firing mode, a flat top rail for mounting day/night sights (such as the Trijicon TA01NSN ACOG 4x32 scope and the AN/TVS-5 Crew served weapon sight) and a detachable carrying handle. The M4A1 fires the same ammunition as the M16A2 and the M4 carbine. It also mounts all accessories common to the M16A2 and M4 to include the 40 mm grenade launcher. SOF units will have the ability to adapt one versatile weapon to meet several missions rather than having many different weapons that are currently deployed.

"...holdovers from the former administration?"

Eventually that line of thinking will become a joke to Everyone. Just like the Congressmaggots being blackmailed because of FBI Files that the FBI GAVE to the Clinton maggots.

If the new Bubba was any different than the old Bubba, practices and abuses would naturally change. An Executive sets the philosophy and attitude of his subordinates. If he doesn't Affect those characteristics, he's either A.) A Failure as a manager, or B.) The Same as his Predecessor.

What most folks who still apply some logic to their views are realizing is that "B" is the correct answer.

They FBI agent just "walked up" to the car and fired at the occupant? Something fishy here. Could be more than just a trigger-happy fedgoon who's never been shown the BOR. Then again, maybe not...

Re: Your reply #1: Those are some pretty serious charges, there..............and can we assume you have some evidence to back up your accusations? I'm not being sarcastic; I'm truly asking, because I sure wouldn't want to be publicly accusing FBI agents...........by name.............of corruption in public without some rock-solid evidence.

Right. That's the point. These people WOULD be a joke, to anyone with a sense of irony...except for the fact that everywhere they go, innocent people are maimed and killed.

Peter Gulota rushes to make the statement that the FBI is "traumatized" by this shooting as well. That's precisely the kind of ridiculous, political spinning in the media which makes people distrust and despise federal LEAs.

I suggest that Gulota go to the chaplain and get his TS slip punched. I doubt that many people reading this are going to be overcome with sympathy for the "trauma" this causes the FBI.

Anybody want to start a pool on this agent using the successful and proven Horiuchi defense: "I was just following orders." Further, it looks like a new candidate for the HRT sniper crew....totally without remorse.

You know, eventually enough people are going to be fed up with this sort of thing that FLEAs really will begin to suffer some trauma when this sort of thing happens.

Oh, don't be so hard on yourself, guys (btw, interesting how the name of the victim hasn't been released).
