Was the alarm that went off at the Van Dams'monitored? If so who responded??
First floor walk in violent abduction by released violent psycho who had been lurking in the neighborhood.
Second floor "hot prowl" through house by neighbor who was at the bar (at least) with Brenda shortly before the abduction.
Mark Klaas was not locked in the garage getting stoned, with unkown "swingers" in and out of his house.
My addition....not to mention the fact that the alarm system had recorded an intruder and Mr. or Mrs. VD turned it off and did not check on their daughter.....
Isn't THAT the truth! I am getting really irritated every time I hear of Mr. Yates being portrayed as a man "who wanted to live a traditional lifestyle where the man was the breadwinner and the wife was the homemaker", as if that was the cause of the deaths of those beautiful children! It's outrageous, yet all of the talking heads seem to be buying into it as if it represents some kind of perverse lifestyle!
I really haven't been following, and so can't comment about the dirty details; but even before I ever heard of such being involved, my impression of them was Not of worried parents, but of a couple focused on managing their 15 minutes of fame.

Two said it was debarked, one didn't go into it, and one said it wasn't debarked. I was going by the latter, but if the majority rules, the dog may have been debarked. And--as has been pointed out here, some dogs who have not been debarked don't bark when they should.
The point still remains: why didn't the dog at least interfere with the prowler, unless the prowler was known to the dog, that is?
I am GUESSING that with guests in the house,the father put the dog in a room so he wouldn't attack/bother any of the guests going to the bathroom,etc,etc,etc.

I have no idea. What I think is that he became a suspect after the police interviewed the parents about who they had had contact with the previous night,and when the police ran his name through their computer,they got a "ping". Chances are that this guy has been arrested on child molestion chanrges some time in the past,but had the charges dropped or beat it in court.
I must be blind,because she looks just like a normal little girl in the 3 photos of her there. The only sick photos there are the ones from your personal collection that have nothing to do with this little girl.
