Think about it. A man's relationship with his wife is sufficiently intimate that he should be familiar with her emotional problems and know what she is capable of. And since Christian marriage is allegedly superior, since Christ is a partner in the marriage, the responsibility is even greater.
Yates was living with this woman (the perp). Praying with her. She was with the kids nearly all of the time. And the Van Dams are criticized because they brought Westerfield into the house once, and he may have danced with the wife in a bar on the night in question.
Can you support that claim with evidence, witness/participant interviews, media reports or any other material that does not come from anonymous internet chat or Rick Robert's radio talk show of 2-8-02?
Please provide links if so. I challenge all Freepers to do more than rely on rumor and single source journalism for information.
I'm going to be REALLY pissed if this happens! The ONLY excuse I can think of at this point to justify something like that would be if he were to confess to murdering other children still listed as missing,and show the cops where the bodies are. I wouldn't be real thrilled about it even then,but I can understand the comfort this would give the parents of these missing children.

I am here in San Diego and have seen many of her stand up press statements. She is like a "20-20" producer, putting the cameras here, testing mikes, all business, (we see all this on live TV), then when she gets to "her statement" about missing Danielle it's all BOOO HOOO, then she talks in the next sentence about a non-sad topic like where the searchers are meeting, and she switches like a light back to all business, no tears. Sorry, it is NOT real.
Unless she has the most amazing on-off switch for her grief.
What we should be condemning is their actions and no one can tell me that their swinging lifestyle didn't contribute to this. Parents who are so concerned with themselves and their own lust's fulfillment, that they don't even go and check on their children when their reported orgy was over and they found the security system breached, are parents who have some real culpability.
May this be a wakeup call to anyone else who thinks they can put parts of their lives into separate boxes and not have all affected. I'd add that their 'prayers' and their church attendance after this is particularly nauseating. Possibly another part of the public relations firm's strategy.
If the VDs are not swingers, they are going to OWN several radio stations for libel and slander when this is over.
But they deny nothing, nothing, they just evade and hide behind PR flacks.
NOW THAT IS FOR SURE!!
KFMB has ran this on their website since day one.....if the VD's had half an attorney, they would have....
1. Shut down that page.
2. Have filed a slander suit against KFMB and Roberts.

At what point did I say I didn't like the thread. I said I didn't like some of the posts in the thread.
There was another thread on here, and many posters were calling this position "sick"..but you have it 100% right.
In every one of the pix, you see, in the husband, the eyes of the cold, calculating professional gambler, world class chess master, or the movie director's idea of the quintessential gunfighter in the middle of the street at 1159:57. It is not the "thousand yard stare" of which both of us are familiar,nor is it grief. It's just cold. You can almost hear the wheels spinning on the calculation "we got this far, what's our next move". The wife doesn't have the scene quite right yet, so vacillates between the "crocodile tears", and the "dazed and confused" persona. I see no real depth to either. Flame away if you want, posters, but they act like they are following a script, and frankly, this one won't win any Oscars.

Further, many people here, (including christians) think Mr. Yates is responsible for negligence since day 1.

If they say that pissed off bitter cops are leaking these swinger stories to them because they are sick of the Van Damm's "we're just like you, this could happen to anyone" line, well those "rumors" have a LOT of credibility.
Much more than the VDs, with their "on and off grief switch", who have NEVER denied the "rumors".
You have to be here in San Diego to absorb it all, you folks only catching the national feeds are only seeing the best-acted ten second BOOO HOOOOs by Brenda VD. We are seeing her other cold faces as well.
This could very well be the reason for the discussion. It COULD be that he is willing to identify the source for the child porn he had,and it is even possible the police have discovered some missing children appearing in these movies.While I really want to see this guy fry,I could get a HUGE smile out of thinking ALL the child porn producers and fellow child molestors he knows end up in prison with him.
