80,000 Freepers and Growing - Freepathon
3-1-02 | Topaz

Posted on 03/01/2002 4:59:36 AM PST by Topaz

When Jim Robinson started Free Republic in September, 1996 to expose the corruption in government and particularly the Clinton Whitehouse, he was alone. Now six years later, Free Republic has 80,000 registered members and who knows how many visit this site often, just to keep up on the latest conservative thinking.

Folks, you all know where this is going, Free Republic is a user supported website and it is time to support it. Four times a year we have this freepathon to donate a few dollars to pay for the bandwidth and expenses necessary to keep Free Republic online, and we do so with gratitude and cheer because of what is offered and accomplished by the existence of Free Republic.

Free Republic does not charge a membership fee or get supported by a government grant. No, people from across the World make donations large and small because they see the value of Free Republic. So if you're one that appreciates this site and want to see it continue, please send in a few dollars to help keep it alive.

At the end of the day, because you just rant and rave none of us are any better off. How can this be?

i'm better off due to forums like this. there are so many places on this planet where
you would die for simply speaking your mind. i respond to you on my own terms, in my own words...

are we better off for it? imho, yes, and this is a fundamental hope that i pass to my children.

Looks good to me. Will let you know if I find anything worth a 'Freepmail'. The Texas number is 'wiggly' due to lodwick's $250 matching fund. And, there are couple of other pledges that were matched. I don't know when, or if, the matches made BADJOE's list. If lodwick is going to put everything in later, your Texas number is the better one.

Hey there, BeforeISleep? How are you?

Glad to see that the FReepathon is moving along so quickly. I couldn't let the day expire without bumping the FReepathon along. Sorry that I can't hang around as much as I usually can (but you're doing more than fine without me, I see! :).

Go Freepers go! You're all doin' great!

See you all tommorrow!

Good quote. My 17 yr old son, Gavin - a high school senior, was at the Marine recruiter's office today. The earliest he can get into boot camp now is Sept. They are booking fast.
