I’m tired of these atheists’ knocking on my door holding the Book of Darwin

The THEORY of evolution. Hey, Nice THEORY! No, really – a beautiful story about how man might have been created. The Darwin bible though has been interpreted by many to ‘soot’ their own beliefs. They preach this stuff as it were fact and leave out the most important word of any THEORY - the word ‘IF’.

I mean you never hear them say, “IF’ the Evolution of life on earth proceeded in two stages: chemical and biological. Life on earth must have developed from inorganic materials- what else was there for it to come from? The first stage in the development of life, therefore, was the production of a reproducing cell from materials at hand on the early earth. This process is called chemical evolution.... Once a living, reproducing system was present, the process of natural selection took over to produce the wide variety of life that exists today. This from the gospel of evolution.

They state this mumbo jumbo as if it were fact. They always leave out ‘IF’. I mean, it’s a darn THEORY isn’t it? Heck, they even ridicule those who believe otherwise. They hide behind this so called faith in Darwin. Although Darwin was just a prophet of ‘their’ science.

Hey, don’t get me wrong, I appreciate science. I even think that evolution is an interesting THEORY – but why should we preach about Darwin in our schools. I mean evolution is thoroughly compatible with religion-when the object of worship is evolution; and we must keep a separation between religion and state. It doesn’t say that in the Constitution, but hey, it sounds like a darn good idea!

Don’t get me wrong, some evolutionists are starting to understand Intelligent Design. But there is still a majority that thinks evolution has somehow disproved the existence of God. Wow, even their prophets Darwin and Nietzsche understood the dangers that posed.

I am an American and believe that everyone should worship as they chose, but keep your Darwin propaganda out of my child’s school and my country’s laws. It's like some kind of ACLU / 700 club.

butt out!

ROFL! Rudeness aside, this is an open forum and I can be just as much of a pest as you. Care to answer my question...? I thought not. :)

I don't harass RA, his ego is so intwined with evolution he had a hard time dealing with criticism of evolution.

Six mos. ago---we were on "friendly" terms---check it... out!

The debate has grown--intensified and that could be healthy--productive---learning-thinking process...ok?

There could indeed be healthy and productive discourse between you and RadioAstronomer. He is very intelligent and has an open mind. Unfortunately, you sometimes appear to be on the offensive rather than engaging in profitable conversation and the exchange of ideas. Perhaps the tone of the rhetoric between the two of you can be altered slightly to promote good will?

I'm sure you're going to hell

I've always wondered about that -- are there levels of hell? I mean for all hell-punished crimes -- is hell the same?

Consider some backward Islamic country (oops, I'm being redundant.) Suppose the penalty for stealing a kiss is death. Then consider that the penalty for rape is death also. Well, once you do one, you can't get punished worse than death, so you might as well do the other while you can.

So if I am going to go to hell for using my brain and deciding there isn't enough evidence to support a belief in god, then shouldn't I just go ahead on a rampage since it can't get any worse in the hearafter anyhow.

Is that what religionists are telling me?

Thanks...very much---GOOD ADVICE!

I'll have to try harder than I've been!

Personally I would rather debate the higher more important... things--only!

God Evolution is 'A' and evolution God is 'B.' 'B' is not totally confident in itself, but 'B' is confident enough to state that the existence of 'A' is not real. Post hoc ergo propter hoc anyone? The theory is this, therefore because of this God evolution doesn't exist.

Its that strange kind of story that seems to come down from long ago,..

Two friends having coffee together when something flies by their window

It may be out on their lawn which is why I had to rent half of a playing field

Cause there’s no explaining what your imagination can make you see and feel.

You know it seems like a dream, got me hypnotized

I’m back,…

I mean, it’s a darn THEORY isn’t it?

So is the inverse square law for gravitational attraction

So, why do these evolutionist believers continue to use the "theory of gravity", which has provable positions? You can prove it through methods.

It allowed us to go to the moon.

So, the inverse square law for gravitational attraction is a Theory, and yes, it is, but Evolution is a fact?

Evolution is not a fact. We have not seen it happen in the 150 years since it was predicted by a traveler.

I’m still a little bit disgusted by these Creation versus Evolution threads. Evos use "intelligent design" or "punctuated equilibrium" to defend their position. Some pretend that they know how life on earth formed and came to the current situation.

I suggest that we do not know. Evolution has not been verified in the real world. You cannot predict, based upon this theory, what will happen to a cow or wolf in 2 million years. Millions of species, 150 years, no new ones, unless you count the ones we hadn’t found before.

Creation has not been verified either. There is no way to know for certain.

I am a skeptic. And I believe this discussion is without value.

Yeah, I mean, because this was all written by sheepherders who believed in an Authority Figure with MYSTICISM, right?

Did I get it right? Answer, please.

Care to provide evidence to the contrary? Evolution is supported by fossil evidence, radiocarbon dating, and so forth.

In your original post, you basically said that evolutionists do not have all the answers, therefore they cannot deny creation. OK, well, here's a third theory for you: It states that giant hippopotamuses created Earth and all life on it 1000 years ago. Since creation and evolution both lack ALL the answers, that means we cannot deny the hippo theory by your logic.

Along with the conversation with my doctor friend was a Discovery channel program referencing this info.
DNA degrades is probably a poor choice of wording here..as I am not an expert.
The components and interactivities that make up the DNA is where the discovery was made...and with that the re-writting capability of the helix.
The program reffed factors which should cause the chromosome pattern to mutate...other components where reffed to be vulnerable to degredation..thus the interest in why the Human DNA chromosome pattern did not mutate into something else over time...thus nulifying Human reproduction.
I taped the program..but did not mark it..hpoefully I did not tape over this program
The program nearly made my Jaw drop..there was animated sequences that showed how the DNA sends signals to the cells to go active and then shut down at certain intervals in the fetus development.
Cells sending chemical messages...cells migrating...activating Heart growth..then limbs..then respitory..etc...it was wild.
And in all of this...if at just one point there is a mutation that sends the cell activation out of sequence..you have a mutant human being.
They showed chromosomes...showed them dancing...pairing up..moving apart.
They showed chromosomes activating in some parts of the body..and being inactive in other parts....like a computer program.
This dance pattern..and the initiation of sequences when cells touched each other was awesome..and yet..the cells would interact with each other and no activity would generate...like the time sequence info was withheld.
Am not an expert in this..hope my semi-confusing post helps...
Either way..am not pulling your leg about the DNA internal degredation..and the self re-writting thing is true too.

Where did hydrogen come from?

Good question. I don't have an answer, but here's another problem without an answer:

Say the universe started with the big bang (you've heard of that, right?). What was before the big bang? That's pretty hard to say because "time" is a property of space. Without space, there is no time. Before the big bang, there was no space. Hmmm.....so there is only "after" the big bang, no before....hmmmm. No time to create a universe until after the universe has been created. I'm sure you have a more satisfying answer for this problem than I can find.

Actually I don't. I won't lie about that. Unlike some here who are expressing gross untruths, yet feel that they are telling the absolute truth.

Thanks. That was an excellent response. It doesn't much bother me when people come trying to convert me, although it doesn't have much effect, either. But the idea that it does them good is an idea I like. Funny thing, but this week's scripture in a great many denominations will be the story of the Woman at the Well. She's "trailer trash" in some respects, but she is also the first person in John other than John the Baptist and Jesus, himself, to get out and proclaim the message. Whether anyone listened seriously is not clear from the Gospel, but she certainly did testify.

I sometimes sit down with a few of the door to door people. It drives my wife nuts. I think I do it because I sense the frustration in their faces and I just want to give them the opportunity to talk. I am carefull to explain that I just wanted to hear what they had to say. They are always gratefull for the opportunity. I learn something too.
