Didn't they learn from their failed experiment of changing the shape of the ketchup bottles--nobody bought it. People want their ketchup in a long-necked bottle, and they want it red. Nuff said!

They're not marketing it to adults - it's aimed more towards kids. My daughter likes the purple stuff.

Are you kidding? My kids love the green ketchup. From what I've read, it's been one of Heinz' most successful new products in years.

I'm afraid you'll have to define "failed experiment." The introduction of kid-friendly bottles and colors has led to a recapturing of market share and phenomenal sales figures. (Which when you look at the price of the colored versus regular it's not hard to understand.) This is not a failure.
