There is some miscommunication. I have people I know, non-Jews, who live in the heartland. They honestly feel that the probability of an attack in a place where there are no Jews or few Jews is remote. They think, and they have some justification, that these barbarians are chiefly after Jews and the US second. I argue that the order is reversed. I think there are quite a few more attacks coming. I pray that the FBI is up to the task. I hope this clears up my meaning.

Exactly! Fisk is so deluded by his liberal, third world victimology philosophy that a person could walk up to him, bust him the mouth and steal his wallet. He would then thank the person for demonstrating the true feelings of the oppressed poor of the world while presenting his neck to the thief.

I'm amazed the guy can even cross the street without fear of offending someone. And as for leaving out the word Jew in his article; well, every good liberal knows that only "right wing" German Nazis and "right wing" Christians are anti-semitic. Never the poor, oppressed Moslems, in poor oppressed Pakistan.

Good Grief! Steyn just keeps getting better and better! I love his term "Fiskal responsibility"! Fisk does come off as a 'vain buffoon' in his comments about the mob that attacked him. I went back and read an article about his whooping. To paraphrase his comments, "It wasn't me they were mad at, you understand, it was that mean old USA! If they weren't bombing everything in sight, these people could go back to their lovely peaceful lives!" YEAH RIGHT!

I saw an interview with that famous 'war slut' Christianne Amanpour a couple of weeks ago. She said even considering Pearl's kidnapping, she STILL would go out as he did for a story. She thinks she can help the Islamic fanatics (my description, not hers, mind you) get 'their story' out. That's just INSANE!

think it has less to do with Islam than it has to do with Israelis. An Israeli soldier gets shot, it's a headline. A Palestinian Child is killed, it's a footnote. I wish people would stop taking the Israeli side, they are every bit as bad as the Nazis were.

Unfortunately, it is exactly inferior, primitive cultures who have strong enough will to push themselves along, and price doesn't matter for them. All the Western rhetoric ('victims of the world', 'underdog', 'disadvantaged', 'bridging the gaps', 'recognition of grievances' and so on ad nuseum[spelling?]) is designed for is to disguise the sad fact of lack of zeal for victory - or, indeed, just for survival.

That was how disfunctional and insane barbarians defeated the Latins and demolished Rome...

You are right to say it will take another attack to rudely shake them into reality.

Wishful thinking. Nothing will shake liberals into reality. Look at the Israeli lefty peaceniks... didn't they have shaking in abundance? For decades, Arabs speak to them softly and sensitively during PR meetings, demonstrate mutual concerns. And then, when a suicide bomber's device goes off, nails and bearing balls maim Left- and Rightwingers equally. Do peaceniks make any conclusions?

You have a good point, but I was referring to average, good Americans who still aren't completely convinced that Islam is going to try and harm the US wherever it can. Like I wrote to someone else. Many people think the equation is that they are after the Jews and the US for helping Jews. I think it's reversed. They hate the US because it represents western civilization and they hate the Jews because they bring civilization into their jungle.
