Just got the following email from David Keene (I'm on the ACU mailing list). Here's the part that pertains to us:

-----

Campaign Finance “Reform” to be voted on in the Senate: WE MUST STOP THIS UNCONSTITUTIONAL BILL!

Today’s second item announces the formation of the First Amendment Action Network (FAAN) a project of the American Conservative Union and the Free Republic Network. (http://www.freerepublic.net)

This joining of forces of between Conservative giants is intended to bring you the latest information about grassroots activities going on in your area and broaden our mobilization efforts to protect the First Amendment and our Constitutionally-guaranteed right to Free Speech.

We’re hope that you will utilize the two links below to join our efforts to stop the U.S. Congress from implementing unconstitutional campaign finance “reform” (CFR) legislation.

Link 1: http://capwiz.com/acu/home/
Link 2: http://www.freerepublic.net/

Once you're logged in the FAAN you will have access to the latest information on CFR as well as the ability to post articles and comments and participate in discussion threads with conservatives from around the country.

You’ll also want to go to www.conservative.org to write a letter to your Senators telling them to stand up for the Constitution and stop CFR. This bill will go to the Supreme Court if it is passed, and IT WILL BE DECLARED UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Demand that your Senators do their job, and protect every American’s right to Free Speech.

*At www.conservative.org there are Legislative Action items on both the C.A.F.É. mandate issue and the Campaign Finance Reform issue. We have provided you with language to send to Capitol Hill for both bills; you can send our language, or create your own at www.conservative.org… the important thing is that you log on RIGHT NOW to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill.

-----

To all our friends at the ACU -- welcome to Free Republic.

One of the things I see coming from this (if it passes and is not vetoed) is a large number of independent challenges to this piece of Big Brother Communist Law. I, for one, will look for ways to align myself with any group willing to take out issue ads in defiance of this law. I fervently hope that (if the worst happens and this becomes law) this law will light a fire that will end up roasting the weenies who enacted it.

If enacted, this law will join 9/11 in terms of national disaster. And like 9/11, we must never forget. Go after the RATS and Rinos who did this to us.

A hearty bump from the Rocky Mountains!

The temperature here is moderate and the gray haze is burning off but it is quite clear that the moderates in the Republican Party are selling us down the river so that the media will think well of them. Their's is a pipe dream and if they don't want to exhibit leadership than they can go the way of the DODO!

We hope that you will utilize the two links below to join our efforts to stop the U.S. Congress from implementing unconstitutional campaign finance “reform” (CFR) legislation.

Link 2: FreeRepublic Network

Freepers, punch the buttons to make a difference!

Regards,

TS
