You know one approach we haven't tried we have emailed Bush but maybe we shoul also email his advisers to come out strongly against the bill( although its not his sphere I don't think it will take much prodding for Rummy to go tell Bush to show some guts and oppose the bill).

Dunno but spread the idea around. Bush just abolished the DACOWITS and took the Saudis off the list of our allies so im not sure he is going to be spineless and not veto the bill. His preference for secrecy is notable( for what purpose in this im not sure maybe he wants conservatives to mobilize against the bill so he gets the maximum positive effect if he vetoes it and diminshes smear attacks by the leftist press Machiavelli said secrecy was ussually good politically).

In "The Art of War" Sun Tzu says:
All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him. If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your enemy is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

In case anyone cares, I see that John McCain will be on Face the Nation, CNN and 60 minutes this Sunday. One more plea for his Incumbent Protection Act, I presume.
