Can't abide hearing that line from people I admire, bud.
We're just going to have to be very gentle with them. The last thing Free Republic needs is another convulsive rift, like we had over Buchanan. So how about :
*our side admits we prefer Bush to Gore;
*their side admits as soon as Bush won office, all pressure on the Clintons stopped;
then having acknowledged these realities, maybe we can find some common ground? This Administration is going to have to be dragged (kicking and screaming) towards supporting the values Freepers collectively hold dear; so where better to get the ball rolling, than from right here on FR?
There is no way to penetrate that kind of delusional thinking. Irrefutable facts make no impression. That's one of the reasons why the situation is pretty much hopeless.
Collectively? COLLECTIVELY? Have you Bush haters now decided what is proper for Freepers to believe? You become more and more comical. Let Mr. Klayman or anyone else make a charge that you can hang your anti-Bush hats on and you start foaming at your "collective" mouths, despite what the facts and your own common sense should tell you. Whatever legitimate grievances you may have are buried by your willing acceptance of charges that are patently false.
