Well, there are some truly brave muslims, the King of Jordan for instance.
The tragedy is that in most of the muslim world, courage is defined by the willingness to be reasonable, peaceable, and refuse to go along with the murderous thugs.
Why does something so apparently simple as being an honest, kind person take courage in that world?
Because the "holy men" will kill you for being a decent human being, that's why.
