The Us can expect at least 1 medal from Women's skating, probably 2-3 or more from short track speed skating, a couple more from regular speedskating, Hockey (men & Women), possible a couple more from Alpine skiing, a couple from freestyle skiing, skeleton and even the possibility of a bobsled medal.
20 medals is quite probable, 25 is realistic, and 30 is not out of the question. By far the most successful Winter Olympics ever for the US.
Bode Miller and Schlopy will contend in the slalom and Miller and Darren Rahlves will contend in GS. Rahlves also has a shot in Super G. On the women's side, I expect Caroline Lalive to finally live up to her talent in GS, and the "kid" may shock everyone in that event.
Maybe more than a couple yet to come. The best skiing is still ahead of us.
