Stay away from S Asia: Pakistan to Israel

Apparently perturbed by increasing Indo-Israeli defence cooperation and a possible sale of Phalcon spy plane to New Delhi, Pakistan has asked the Jewish state not to get involved in South Asia.

Senior Pakistani officials conveyed this message to a high-ranking Israeli official in Paris last week, Hebrew daily MaFariv reported.

"Don't become involved in our region so that we are not dragged into doing something similar in your region," the paper quoted officials as saying.

Israeli defence sources said security cooperation between New Delhi and Tel Aviv was not targeted at any country. Allaying fears that the sale of Phalcon Airborne Warning and Control Systems could disturb the military balance in South Asia, the sources said: "At the end of the day it's a defence system which cannot change the balance in the region."

Defence partnerships between New Delhi and Tel Aviv has raised concern among few Arab countries in the past.

During an international conference on missiles in Paris last week, a Pakistani official expressed similar concern about possible Israeli sales of AWACS and Arrow anti-ballistic missile defence systems to India.

"We are deeply concerned that there are sales of anti-ballistic missile defence systems and advanced airborne early warning abilities, which ignore the need of stability in our region," he said.

Earlier, Israel made it clear that there was no pressure from the United States against the Phalcon sale and that it was up to New Delhi to decide on the spy plane deal.

Israel wants to sell three Phalcons to the Indian Air Force and the two sides have been negotiating the estimated $1 billion deal for quite some time now. The radar systems of the Phalcons will extend the IAF's range of operation and will give India control and monitoring capabilities from the sky.

Israel has become India's second largest arms supplier after Russia, which include sea-to-sea missiles, surveillance systems, upgradation of India's Soviet-era tanks and aircraft, border monitoring equipment, night vision devices and intelligence cooperation.

You do not, EVER, treat a country that has over 3 dozen armed nuclear weapons as just some bunch of nobodies that you can just push around

Nobody here is scared of nukes. Nobody on the planet is scared of nukes.

Besides that, nukes are vastly over-rated as military implements. They might be of some strategic political use until they actually are used at which point they become useless. All the same, if you insist on waving nukes around like a 3-year old with his grandfather's .45, the nukes will be taken away. After all, someone could get hurt.

""Don't become involved in our region so that we are not dragged into doing something similar in your region," the paper quoted officials as saying." (Pakistan to Israel)

Is there any doubt now of the importance of a solid, reliable and committed US-India-Israel alliance? All of this pandering to Pakistan only ends up with India getting more innocent civilians killed, and Pakistan becoming more and more arrogant, trying to assert itself as a "dominant power" in the Islamic world.

We should have no illusions here - Pakistan is neither a friend to the United States, Israel, or India.

The World's most powerful democracy (the U.S.), the World's smallest democracy (Israel), and the World's largest democracy (India) need to seize the moment NOW and solidify their mutual respect, loyalty, honor, brotherhood, devotion to the Rule of Law, secularism, racial and religious harmony, progress, commerce, freedom, and capitalism.

The new Triumvirate must be a beacon of light for the entire world.

Fist of all, I don't knowingly lie. Since you were a former democrat it seems one of the leftist tactics, insulting your opponent in a debate, is still with you. However, I will try not to stoop to such levels, OK Yehuda? I am not a supporter of Islamic terror against Israel and the U.S. However, I am not a support of Jewish terror against Muslims, either.(EX. Massacre in 1982 of 900 Palestianian women and children by Chrisitan militias while Israel looked on and did nothing. Ariel Sharon, leader of Israel, cannot go to Holland or possibly even all of Europe because he was held indirectly responsible for this and other crimes and there is a warrant for his arrest written by the World Court.) Maybe you don't like that. As for accusing me of being ignorant, well...how much money the U.S. gives Israel on a yearly basis depends on what source you are quoting and how you came by your statistics. Some sources say $3 billion (Washington Report on Middle Eastern Affairs) some say $6.72 billion ("U.S. Aid to Israel"What U.S. Taxpayers Should Know" Tom Malthaner) other say $5.2 billion (Alisa Soloman "Stop American Aid for Israeli Bombs") etc. Therefore, even if my figure is off, it's not off by much. It depends how you define "aid"---is a guarenteed loan part of aid? etc. Israel is technically America's ally but that dosen't stop incidents like espionage (SEE Jonathan Pollard incident, donations to him while he is in jail for treason are tax-deductible, by the way Israel offered this traitor $1,000,000) or incidents like the 1967 bombing of the U.S.S, Liberty (SEE U.S.S. Liberty incident). You then claim that I am friends with Arab terrorists. Can you please site where I wrote that. Or is this one of the tactics you used when you were a former democrat? False accusations are a common leftist tactic, you know. Site where I said I was in agreement with Arab terrorists, if you cannot then you are the lair. As far as the inflation rate, I remembered a news report on CBS news in the late 1970s that stated that Israel had a 50% inflation rate. You did not give me a site that went back that far. I believe America's unequivocal support for Israel may change as America's demographics change. The two fastest-growing ethnic groups in America are Hispanics and Asains, and they may not be too thrilled to see their hard-earned money going to Israel. Only time will tell.

Madiuq has a problem with reading comprehension. See his posts on the thread "War on Terron Reivigorated Indo-Us relations." He accuses me of all sorts of things like claiming I was 50 years old when I never did so. Madiuq, can you please cite an example where I said I was 50 years old? Or is reading comprehension not your forte? If it's not, please try to improve before you post here.

"Koba" is probably not even who he says he is. He appears to be a disruptor, and a problem for everyone who loves peace and stability.

Because Islam and the Jewish faith have a few tiny disagreements in the middle east, the Americans need to side with their ally Israel, even if it means more trouble.

Their tiny disagreements are that radical Muslims want all Jews and and Christians to submit to Allah or die. That is why America must side with our ally Israel.

"If you are not vociferously against Islamic terror aimed at the US and Israel, then you are a supporter of it."

With all due respect, and finding myself agreeing with all of your posts, please also include India in that equation, right after US and Israel. It does no good to fight terrorism on one or two fronts, while ignoring it in another important, strategic, and geopolitical ally of both the United States and Israel.

Jewish terror against Muslims? Well, in 1922 (according to the British Census) Palestine was 90% Arab and 10% Jewish. The Palestinians owned most of the land. What happened was a Jewish program of illegal immigration and Jewish terrorism of Palestinians that caused the Palestinians to flee. Begin, a prime minister of Israel, was involved in these attacks. (SEE any history or biography of Begin) You threaten Palestinians in your post---do you want to finish them off in a "final solution of the Palestinian question?" Hey, I heard that phrase "final solution" once before, where did it come from...?

Your response to the massacre of 900-3000 Palestinian women and children was telling and says a lot about you and Israel "blah blah blah"---they're only a bunch of Arab camel-jockeys and so therefore their lives don't count, right? You claim "the Muslim PLO hooked up transfusions from their Christian POWS and drained the blood out of them until they died." Can you please cite a reputable source that claims the Arabs did that?

As for Ariel Sharon, well, he got away from legal charges because the World Court excused him on the claim they couldn’t prosecute a leader of a country as he was diplomatically immune. What a defense. They didn't claim he wasn’t held criminally held responsible for his actions (or lack of actions) in the massacres of 1982, they just said that he could not be held accountable for his actions. If a foreign diplomat kills an American in a drunk driving accident, he too can also claim immunity from prosecution because of diplomatic immunity. He'll probably be able to get away with it, because foreign diplomats have gotten away with it in the past. As for the U.S.S. Liberty incident, well, go to the U.S.S. Liberty website to see what they think about what happened. The captain of the ship, William McGonagle was awarded a Congressional medal of honor and the crew was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, the Presidential Unit Citation two Navy Crosses (awarded posthumously) the Silver Star, and the Bronze star. They all think it was a deliberate attack on an American ship. (SEE Survivors of U.S.S. Liberty Website) The planes that attacked the Liberty were unmarked---why was that? Even the stupid Arabs mark their planes with insignia for identification purposes, why can' the smart Israelis? Unless they're trying to hide something, of course. I'm sure Captain McGonagle and his crew were all part of some Islamo-Nazi conspiracy. Why don't you tell the survivors all this at their website? I'm sure they'll appreciate it. As for Pollard, well, Pollard was a paid spy of the Israeli government. Gee, what friend, Israel they spy on you too! Pollard was the one who was caught, there may be many others floating around, still free. According to Eric Margolis "Pollard provided Israeli intelligence with names of important agents inside the former Soviet Union and Russia who had supplied information on East Bloc weapons and war plans." (SOURCE "Jonathan Pollard Was No Jewish Patriot" Eric Margolis The Toronto Sun Jan14.1999) Margolis is also one of many who verifies my claim of the $5 billion in aid to Israel by thee U.S. We now have proof that Israel attacked an American ship, killed 37 American crewman and wounded over 100 others, The survivors think it was a deliberate attack (SEE U.S.S. Liberty website) The Israeli government spys on the U.S. Gee, what friends they are, and you get to pay up to $7 billion per year (if you count the Egyptian bribe for peace, the U.S. wouldn’t care about Egypt if it was located in the middle of Africa) for this friendship! Gee, what a deal! I really don't worry what about what happens about Israel and the Arabs. In their own special way they're meant for each other (like the Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland, the Indians and the Pakistanis in Kashmir, etc.) I just don't like to see billions of American $ go down the drain for what is, at best, an ambiguous situation with different views as to who, if anyone is "right" or "wrong" here. I'd love it if Israel was actually self-supporting and didn't need American money, As an American, my loyalty is to America fist, not divided between two countries. If Israel can make it without American money, great. If not, too bad. As far as demographics I have bad news for you Yehuda baby. This country is, as I wrote before, demographically changing. Hispanics are, if anything anti-Israeli (SEE LA RAZA's and MECHA's website). Both the organizations are extreme but many Hispanics, who are the third-poorest ethnic group in America, are not happy with funding Israel to the tune of billions of dollars while they are poor. Many Hispanics actually see themselves in the role of Palestinians, certainly not Israelis. Asians are smart (and I am happy to say that Asain_Indians surpass Jews in percapita income in most demographic surveys!) and they don't want to spend billions on a cause and country they really don't care for. I predict that by 2020, once the demographic changes hit the U.S. the unqualified support of America for Israel will come under question as America itself demographically changes,

As for going to DU, well I'm quite happy here. Whenever you disagree with someone you tell them to go someplace else. Well, I’ll tell you to go someplace else. If you like Israel so much, why don't you go there...?
