Well folks, I'm still here. Couldn't let this pass without adding my two cents. First, Larry Klayman did a great job on this for me. The old saying "hard to fight city hall" is truer than ever. Second, it should be plain to all that the Justice Department and the FBI want to bottle up any public discussion or hearing on the Wen Ho Lee case. And that is regardless of Administration. Lots of Clinton holdovers left in the Bush administration and they came to the front in this case. Both at Justice and also at Energy. Consequently, there was lots of collusion between the government and the defendants - mutual objectives. The defendents knew there was no evidence of racism or any other of the smears in the "classified documents." Clinton holdovers poured though the classified holdings looking for anything that could help Lee, etc. When they couldn't find anything, these people (DOE and Justice) simply claimed that national security would be damaged, etc. Pretty slick, huh? So get off of Klayman's back, on this case, he did everything he could to win...especially when no one else in Washington would touch the case...or me. Regards to all.

Thanks for giving us your first-hand perspective on this; but I'm not letting Bush or Ashcroft off the hook. They are well aware of the treason that went on, and they have done nothing but aid and abet it. And now they are sending a very clear message to any "would-be" whistleblowers.

I don't see any reason why I shouldn't assume that the treason continues.

Thank you for your reply.

Klayman carries a lot of baggage with all of his history on this site, first as a hero and then sometimes a goat. As with anyone living on the perifery of the Clinton wrong doing, Klayman has made himself a figure of controversy. As he took your representation when no one else would and you are happy with the effort put forth, I give him a pass on this one. It is a shame that this gets personalized as "Bush" doing something in this article. As you point out, it is the whole culture of government. A pretty astute and mature viewpoint on an issue that affects your livelyhood.

The climate created in government when Clinton came to power was the true source of the problem. Not that it didn't exist before in a small sense, but Clinton made it whole. His team's actions against Aldrich, yourself and others amounted to political war against our traditions, institutions and culture. Because of the efforts of you, and those like you, the initial assault was held from the ridgeline until we common folk could intellectually arm ourselves.

BUMP! Wish you well, and pray for you earnestly that justice be done. Keep the faith!

While it may well be the RAT hold-overs doing the dirty work, I am afraid that the 'move-on' gang can't be absolved of responsibility here. Ashcroft and Bush cannot be totally oblivious to their subordinates actions, as Ashcroft while a Senator, had called for accountability on Wen Ho Lee. Now, suddenly AG, he doesn't lift a finger to help you, but stabs you in the back. That, clearly, shows bad faith on John Ashcroft's part. Now it is unlikely that a change of this magnitude in his deportment was without directions from his superior. That implicates only one person in our Cabinet structure. It does seem likely as a number of others such as Cohen, Prather, etc. have opined, that GWB is running interference for GHWB. The real question is, if GHWB was to 'pass on' would GWB suddenly reverse his cover-up policies (perpetuating Krinton's) or maintain them to avoid taking the hit of having enacted them in the first place or of the likely huge fallout of political-guilt-by-association for his dad's misdeeds.
