(Sarcasm generator on) But, the Middle Easterners are our friends. To believe otherwise is to give in to prejudice and intolerance. (Sarcasm generator off)

whether it was a suicide

I guess setting herself on fire may have caused her to run into the pole, or maybe since she didn't kill herself when she ran into the pole, she set herself on fire to finish the job. Either way a tough way to do one's self in.

Can't we tie this to Clinton somehow?

It's not as much fun if we can't.

Maybe she was in a hurry to get to the Memphis (TN-AR) bridge so she could jump and commit suicide like the Harvard scientist did late last year...must have missed the turn-off.

We'll probably find a string connecting them somehow and not because we'd be a wishing for it.

Corrupption is as corruption does.

In a statement released by the NTSB, the investigators are currently looking into whether the wake from a passing semi may have played a role in the accident. So far, they have learned that she was not actually "burned beyond recognition", as some witnesses claim.

"The reports of her being on fire are unsubstantiated. We believe that after a visit to a suntanning parlor, where she stayed in longer than she should have, the terrible itching she was subjected to, as well as the wake of the passing semi, are the cause of this unfortunate accident.", said spokesperson Koverin Mybutt of the NTSB.

Obviously, the guys in jail didn't kill her. Who did?

Why wasn't the FBI tailing this woman?

Katherine Smith identified through dental records; cause of death pending

A Memphis woman allegedly at the center of a scheme to sell fraudulent Tennessee driver's licenses has been identified as the person whose burned body was found early Sunday in the wreckage of a car in Fayette County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Lt. Col. Mark Fagan said Katherine Smith was identified by the Shelby County Medical Examiner's office through dental records. The office also found "evidence of smoke inhalation," Fagan said. This indicates Smith was alive when her car left the road, crossed a ditch and ran into a utility pole.

The Highway Patrol, which is investigating the crash, is awaiting a rule on the cause of death from the medical examiner in Fayette County. Fagan said he did not know when the report would be completed.

Smith and five men with ties to the Mid-East were charged last Wednesday in a federal complaint with conspiracy to obtain fraudulent identification documents.

Smith was free pending a detention hearing Monday in federal Magistrate Court. Her five codefendants have been held without bond since their arrests last Wednesday.

Federal prosecutor Tim DiScenza told U.S. Magistrate Judge Diane Vescovo on Monday that Smith's death was "most unusual and suspicious."

He also said two of her five codefendants had "connections" to the World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

But defense attorney Anthony Helm told the court there was no indication the defendants were connected to terrorism. He said the prosecutors are making the terrorism implications only because the defendants are from the Middle East.

In addition to the strong possibility that former associates (terrorists) killed her, there is also the possibility of a vigilante murder.

Not that I mind her being dead, but at this stage she'd be more useful to us alive. She never should have been released.

"She never should have been released."

I think a lot of people in the judiciary and law enforcement must have slept through 911. Whether we like it or not the whole country, not just NYC, is in a state of war. The enemy is very stealthy and adept at dissembling. As a nation we are very naive, provincial, and gullible. Our enemy has nests within nests of clans who are practiced in deceiving authorities. We do not have experience with such people. They know how to manipulate our system to the max. We must be extremely suspicious. What ordinarily would seem plausible now must be suspect. I really wonder whether if our law enforcement officials are sufficiently trained.
