Why should you be. After twenty years of ignoring them (and by all appearances their having ignored us for a like period), our President labels their elected government "evil" and strongly implies that we are going to tell them how to live. What would one expect, 500,000 Iranians in the street shouting "We are Evil! We are Evil!"

This illustrates the fundamental difference. George Bush speaks, people in Iran listen, people in Iran react. Iranian President Mohammad Khatami speaks, no one here cares. Except the pressholes.

Yeah.
They've convinced me.
They're not part of an "axis of evil."
Right.

Don't those people work? I suppose they have their "rent-a -riot" group too. Talk about globalism.

Something that puzzles me about all of these demonstrations...I wonder what the labor laws are like in middle-eastern countries? On top of vacation and holidays, do workers receive 2 months off for ani-USA/Israel demonstrations? It seems like at the slightest event, thousands upon thousands are always out protesting. To me it seems that these demonstrations are favorite pastimes. I can just imagine the following dialog:
boss: Hello?
Ahmed: Hey boss, this is Ahmed. I won't be coming into work today.
boss: Why not? You have used up your vacation and all of your sick leave as a result of your grenade incident...
Ahmed: I know, but I am not asking off for vacation or sick leave. Today is "bash effigy of Bush" day me and some of my buddies want to go burn an effigy of Bush.
boss: Didn't you burn an effigy of Bush last week?
Ahmed: Uh, umm, uh...I'm sorry, I was reading my calendar wrong, today is USA flag burning day...Can I still get a protest day off?
boss: Very well, you have used up 15 protest days so far this year, you have 30 more protest days remaining.
Ahmed: Thanks boss! I'll see you at next weeks Bin Ladins beard shavings worship revival.
boss: Ok, see you then...Hope you are adjusting to your new wooden leg...Bye. Allah-akbar!!!

We should have hit them while there were so many in ONE spot.....the old "shooting fish in a barrel" adage comes to mind.......More bang for the buck.....if we'll spend a few million to blow up a camel's butt, just think of the cost efficiency of using one tomahawk against one rally of ragheads....

Of course not. But all the same their regime is evil as evidenced by its desire to destroy our country. And State Dept. spokesman Richard Boucher is politically autistic where recognizing evil is concerned.

Angered by the United States' labeling of Iran as part of an "axis of evil," hundreds of thousands of Iranians chanted "Death to America"...Hmmmm...uh...ah...they been chanting that long before the SUA.....'nuff said.

We're The Great Satan. Actually we're the Guy with the White Hat and what has the towelheads worried is the prospect of High Noon in the town square. The low sucking scum wouldn't survive the shoot-out. The Texas Hombre knows what he's doing.

We're being told how "evil" the Iranians are, but I just don't necessarily believe it. Somehow I have a hard time swallowing the "truths" that are spoon fed to me.
Just last year I talked with a group of American wrestlers who had returned for an exhibition match in Iran - and they all remarked about how friendly the Iranian people were and how well they were treated.
I'm thinking that many conservatives are so eager to claim a win after all those miserable years with the Clintonistas that they're willing to believe anything, as long as it comes from Republican liars.

I keep hearing this "their desire to destroy our country". I don't wish to be obtuse, but would someone please point/link me to an article where the Iranians have stated that they have a desire to "destroy" the USA. Sure they call us "the Great Satan" and all, but then again, the French say alot of nasty things about us too and we don't go around seeking to overthrow Chirac. Castro calls us names each year and we haven't tried to bounce him lately. Chavez in Venuezuala does the same and he's still there.
I don't like them either. But unless someone can show me something concrete and objective showing that Iran either has current or foreseeable plans to do actual harm (and not just keep yapping like some p.o.'d little yard dog) to the USA (not Israel) then I have a real hard time planning or joining in and rejoicing over plans on doing harm to them. (And when I say concrete and objective I am talking about something besides a statement issued by the US government or one of its agencies).

i'm a italian roman catholic yankee Who obviously doesn't take Jesus too seriously. Here Angcat rejoices that Iranian civilians have died a horrendous death in a jetliner. There Angcat can't wait to bomb the he|| out of people who do her no more harm than call her names.
Is that what you learned in Sunday catechism?
