Oh, puh-lease. The only reason why they were supporting NA was because they were against Taliban, not because they were pro US or pro democracy. If you recall Taliban have killed 9 Iranian diplomats (and an iranian journalist) in the summer of 98. In fact Iran nearly went to war over that. I recall Iran reacting to those events and labeling the acts by Taliban against Iranian diplomats as "barbaric".. Very interesting, considering that Iran held our diplomats hostage for years.

"They were supporting the Northern Alliancem remember?" True statement
"They were the "good" guys that did our fighting for us in Afghanistan."
But how the hell did you come up with this? Iran didn't do a damn thing for US. Anything that they did was for them and them alone.

Fortunately your words are here for all to see through. Are you implying that the intent of my posts was something other then for all here to see?

Had to have been the work of the "Great Satan"

Really? Why were they denying his involvement?

"They accusation is that Iran was supporting OBL. They weren't." I understand your point - however posting what you posted doesn't support this.
The truth of the matter is that the politics in that part of the world are extremely complicated. To jump from Iran supporting the Northern Alliance to Iran NOT supporting OBL - isn't necessarily logical or true. (I don't give a damn what the 'official press releases are).

What it was, they were practicing their own 9-11,but what they didn't tell them was YOU DON'T CRASH THE PLANE UNTIL YOU'RE READY TO DO IT!

That's the correct reaction!
Kidding aside anyone sane seriously believe this was anything but an accident? That's the difference right there.

Sounds like they are blaming their allies, the Russians, for leasing them rotten airplanes.

"She said that the crash was the fault of ``the stupid incompetent officials who go and collect second-hand ... planes from all over the former Soviet countries. What is this garbage they buy or rent?''"
Sounds more like the average Iranian rightly blames the stupidity and incompetence of their own ruling ayatollahs. Popular rage against the oppressive regime works in our favor and should be encouraged - we support the suffering Iranian people in their battle for freedom. Pres. Bush made this very clear in the state of the union speech.
