In Angola, especially. Heck, at one point, Castro had over 75,000 troops in over 20 countries around the world.

We have at times used remnants of the 2506 brigade ourselves as proxies to counter the communist Cuban presence in Central and SW Africa. I have personally been friendly with a few of them when I lived in Miami.
