Larry asked them about it just now on Larry King Live (2-11-2), and they refused to deny it.

Thanks for verifying my memory--I asked primarily because this woman reminds me so much of Susan Smith--not her appearance, but her demeanor.
To: Petronski
To be a swinger you have to be a sexual deviant. And many sexual deviants are pedophiles. Bring a pedophile into your home and you open yourself up to a world of hurt.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the open door.
If I were to write one of those law and order episodes "torn from the headlines", the open door would either be a smokescreen by the parent(s) trying to cover up the fact that they sold the kid, or something equally diabolical and disgusting; or I would have the neighbor unlock the door when he was there for the pizza and ???, then return later to take the girl without the parents knowledge.
The truth could be close to either one of those scenarios, or far from it. I just hope this doesn't turn into another Jon Benet Ramsey thing, with nobody ever being proven guilty for whatever has happened to this little girl.

You know what? If this rumor turns out to be true, and if Westerfield did it, I really think they should arrest the mother and father as accomplices. Someone should get those other kids out of that house, immediately.

...accomplices...Well, 'accessories' anyway, but I'm with you.

Just when you think things couldn't get any weirder. I tell you, that mother seems WAY too composed for me. I am suspicious.

Wasn't the mom at the same bar as the suspect at one point that evening? Maybe I misunderstood this. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. If true, I thought that that was very weird.
The last interview I saw with the way too composed mom, she INSISTED on calling it a "Cafe" and corrected the interviewer whenever they used the term 'bar'. Not exactly the kind of detail I would be worried about if my kid was snatched.

You've got a point, but there's a conflict between some of these lifestyles and raising a family. They bring you into contact with a lot more unsavory characters than you would bump into elsewhere. You could say that "swinging" is one's own business, but it will involve association with a lot more bad people than you'd meet in church. There's nothing inherently wrong with nudism, but nudist camps and beaches have got a lot more perverts than golf courses do. Smoking marijuana at home might not do much harm to anyone else, but a group of a thousand pot smokers will commit more crime than a thousand yacht club members.
This is your daily message from the Dr. Laura fan club :-)

You left out the best part - the neighbor who the police keep saying is not a suspect - he was at the bar with the mom and her girl friends. I don't know if they met there by accident or not, but it seems a little suspicious to me.
Also, when I was fighting for custody of my grandchild, I found out the mother had used the child as collateral for her drug buys. She would take my grandchild to the home of the drug dealer and he would hold her until the mother came up with the money for the drugs. I never have found out exactly what happened to my grandchild, but my son and his wife who are her guardians told me, "you don't want to know, because you will kill the mother". It's funny, but the first time I heard the report about the mom and the neighbor being at the same bar and dancing together, that was the first thing I thought about - did the mom use the girl as barter for drugs?? She doesn't appear to be a druggie, but appearances can be deceiving and some druggies are hard to spot because they don't look haggard and thin.
I'm just throwing this out there.

The allegations are, and they're not denying, that they were instead in their locked garage, smoking pot, engaged in "wife-swapping" behavior at the time of the alleged abduction.
Drugs are harmless, right guys?
