Palestinians fire Kassam-2 rockets from Gaza into IsraelPalestinians fired up to three Kassam-2 rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, approximately two kilometers east of Kibbutz Sa'ad on Sunday. The IDF has so far located the remains of one rocket, but three explosions were heard midday Sunday.This was the first time Palestinians have used the Kassam-2 rocket against Israeli targets. "All the indications lead us to believe that it is a Qassam 2," said IDF spokesman Jacob Dallal. "We found three launchers in Palestinian-controlled areas in Gaza directly west of the Nahal Oz [kibbutz]." Uri Ya'ari, a security officer at the kibbutz where the projectile fell, said the rocket left a hole in the ground one-and-a-half metres wide and one metre deep, close to the kibbutz farmland. An Israeli tank shelled the area where the rockets were believed to have been fired from. Infantry soldiers then moved into the area and discovered three launchers. The rockets have an 8-kilometer range and pose a serious security risk to a number of Israeli cities. Israeli security forces are concerned that the rockets have also been smuggled into the West Bank from Gaza. On Wednesday, a truck carrying Kassam-2 rockets from Nablus to Jenin was intercepted by an armored corps reserve unit. IDF arrests three Palestinians in Nablus IDF troops, tanks and armored personnel carriers briefly raided the West Bank city of Nablus late Saturday night, arresting three Palestinian brothers near a refugee camp in the north of the city. A fourth brother, a member of Fatah's Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, wanted by the Israeli security forces, managed to escape. An Israeli officer told Israel Radio that the operation had failed to achieve its goal. IDF troops entered the Palestinian-ruled city around 3 A.M. Israel time, searching several buildings for militants the army said were involved in attacks on Israelis. Palestinian sources said at least seven Palestinians were wounded, two critically, in the ensuing exchange of fire between troops and local gunmen. They said an Israeli bulldozer also damaged five shops in the area before the soldiers withdrew about two-and-a-half hours later. A resident of the Askar refugee camp suffered a heart attack and died Sunday morning following the IDF's infiltration, Palestinian media reported. The IDF continued its operation in the West Bank village of Tamoun Saturday night, north-east of Nablus. Palestinian sources reported that IDF troops arrested 25 Palestinian early Saturday morning during house to house searches in Tamoun near Nablus. However, the IDF said that it had arrested only 15 people and that they had all been released. Woman killed in West Bank shooting An Israeli woman, Atala Lipovsky, 79, was killed Saturday night and her son Victor was lightly wounded when Palestinians opened fire at their vehicle near the Tapuah junction, south of the West Bank city of Nablus. The ambush took place next to the village of Marda, several kilomters before the junction. Her son, who was in the driver's seat, managed to continue driving for several more kilometers, where rescue services attempted to resuscitate the woman, but to no avail. Her son was taken to Beilinson Hospital, Rabin Medical Center, in Petah Tikva. Lipovsky, a resident of the settlement of Ma'aleh Ephraim, immigrated from the Ukraine in 1993. She will be buried Sunday in Kfar Sava. She is survived by two sons, both residents of Ma'aleh Ephraim, and grandchildren. Troops began blockading Tamoun, which is under full Palestinian control, Friday night. The blockade, it appears, is the first step in an IDF operation aimed at taking control of the village. The IDF spokesman said that the operation had a specific time-frame. However, security sources said that is was likely that several wanted Palestinians had managed to flee to Nablus at the start of the operation. At least that's what I've gathered from the influx of anti-Israeli, anti-American posters everywhere on FR this morning.
Of course, they could be wrong, and their plans could wipe out Israel. But the pro-arabs are willing to take that risk I guess.
Islamics DON'T KNOW or WANT to live in peace. They thrive on turmoil, Jihad and conflict.
Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
Abaddon = "destruction"
Apollyon = "Destroyer"
The Arrow defense system does not pick up these rockets?
Let's rock n roll and kick their arses.
A nuke is definitely out, but there are other ways. Use a vaccine on your own people and any palestinians that want to live in peace and have a record of doing so. Then release a biological agent on those that don't.
Sometimes survival calls for ugly responses.
If Israel tried that, the disease would spread - fast - into neighboring Arab nations. It would put those neighboring Arab nations - which have chemical weapons and (maybe) biological ones - in the position of having nothing to lose.
Think a few moves ahead. (What would happen if this miracle disease spread to anthrax-armed Iraq?)
There is going to come a time when Israel is going to tell the rest of the world to F*** off and do what needs to be done.No more more hemming and hawing,eliminate the palestinian authority,and wipe out everyone who would harm Israel.I just hope Im around to see it.I will also offer what help I can.The Palestinians are murdering bastards.The EU and the rest of the liberal world need to quit apologizing for the PA's barbarism and accept the fact that muslims and arabs are the problem. |

U.S. told: Israel will react to Iraqi strikeJoint U.S.-Israel defense group to be reactivated in MarchNEW YORK - The United States understands that Israel "will not sit quietly" if Iraq attacks it in response to any American assault on Saddam Hussein, senior American officials told Prime Minister Ariel Sharon this weekend.The officials also promised Israel will be told in advance of any American plan to attack Iraq, so that it can prepare its defenses. These were two of the key assurances Sharon had sought in his Washington meetings with President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice on Thursday. His hosts did not give Sharon any details of the next stages of the U.S. war on terror, saying they have not yet made any final decision. But both Sharon and Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, who was also in Washington last week, said they received the impression that the U.S. is determined to act against Iraq, and that Iraq is currently the focus of its Middle East policy. Israeli sources said that Iraq will also be the focus of Cheney's visit to the region next month, which will include a two-day stopover in Israel. Ben-Eliezer told his American counterpart, Donald Rumsfeld, that Israel is preparing for the possibility of an Iraqi strike against it in response to an American attack, including the possibility that it could use chemical or biological weapons. Iraq did not use such weapons during the Gulf War, but Israel believes it may do so this time, Ben-Eliezer said. A senior Pentagon delegation, led by Undersecretary of Defense Doug Feith, will visit Israel next month for a meeting of the joint Defense Policy Advisory Group (DPAG), which has not met since October 2000. The talks will apparently center on preparations for an American attack on Iraq. Sharon also discussed the Iranian threat with his hosts - Tehran's efforts to obtain nuclear weapons, its support for anti-Israel terrorism in Lebanon and the territories, and its efforts to foment discontent among Israeli Arabs. In addition, he warned of the danger that the northern border could heat up, citing incidents such as Hezbollah's recent firing of anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli air force planes on Israel's side of the border. The U.S. believes that Iran is behind Hezbollah's activity, but Sharon said the organization would not act without encouragement, or at least tacit consent, from Syria, the de facto ruling power in Lebanon. The Americans therefore promised to warn Syria against permitting any escalation on Israel's northern border. Sharon said the question of restarting Israeli-Syrian negotiations did not arise.
