WASHINGTON - The economic stimulus bill that President Bush says will hasten recovery from recession appears dead in the Senate and will probably be shelved, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle said Tuesday. Daschle, D-S.D., said neither Republicans nor Democrats will have the 60 votes necessary to win approval of their competing measures and that the Senate will take up other business on Wednesday.
"It's with great regret I will pull the bill tomorrow," Daschle told reporters Tuesday.

The 60 vote charade AGAIN! Sheesh...last time I checked Tom, it only takes 51 to get a majority. What a frickin' jerk.
The Republicans should make the Dems filibuster. Wouldn't that be great? What with a war and a weak economy, the American people could watch Robert Byrd expound on a whole host of worthless subjects. Come on Trent, force Dasshole's hand.

I'm sorry. I thought you only need 51 votes to have a bill pass the Senate. Did I miss where the Constitution was changed since the Democrats took control of the Senate, and now 60 votes are needed?
What the h*ll is Daschle afraid of?

Please make sure you get your message out to the American people!
Please keep pushing hard left, keep pushing your agenda!

You know, I just completed our taxes. After realizing that the "rebate" wasn't a rebate at all, but an advance on our refund, I thought "I hope Bush manages to speed up the real tax cuts." Obviously, that ain't happening. Trent Lott needs to step down. If he can't work with the President's approval rating and get our legislation passed, he's a eunich.

"It's with great regret I will pull the bill tomorrow," Daschle told reporters Tuesday. That is the biggest lie I've heard a Democrat say today.

Thanks for the campaign issue DASHOLE!

Why are 60 votes needed, Mr. Daschle? A majority in the Senate would be 51. Or am I counting wrong? (Maybe it's dimocrat math!)

ZELL MILLER!
Your country needs you NOW!

This has absolutely TANKED the stock market.
To: finnman69
Tommy, if you're not going to do anything with the Senate, can President Bush borrow it for a while?
