HEY, GANG. COME AND JOIN IN ON THE TEACHER CHATBOARD. THE LINK IS ABOVE. THEY NEED TO KNOW THEIR RIGHTS AND SHOULD BE DEMANDING MONEY BACK FOR THOSE DUES BEING USED FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES (FOR THE RATS) WITHOUT PERMISSION.
Post: dues being used for political purposes
Posted by Doug on 2/04/02
A friend of mine was tired of her dues being used for political purposes with which she disagreed. She demanded an accounting and a refund. She just got back almost $300. Most people are afraid to make waves.
In Washington, teachers are demanding an accounting of the money. It's okay to use the money with permission, but it would be nice if the Beck decision was followed. Not everyone agrees with the political positions of the NEA or CTA and it is outrageous that they spend money without permission.

Think we're appearing sane and credible. Not the teacher-hating right wing nuts which we are supposed to be.

Doug, BTW, it's good to see long-time freepers still on the board (I've been here just a few months fewer than you, but am more of an active listener, and less of a participant than you). Keep up the great work, my friend.

Like 'far' as in somewhere far away, and 'far' as in "Hail far!"?

Yes, mildly amusing.
