I'm a baseball fan, not a football fan.

The 2 Minute Drill always seems to generate more points than the regular offense in the rest of the game.

Why not do that all day long?

The reason 2 minute drills generate a lot of offense is because the opposing defense usually goes into a "prevent" mode. The defensive secondary lays way back from the receivers to prevent really long plays. The quarterbacks then can pick them apart a lot of times with short to medium passes. When the Broncos played the Packers, the Broncos refused to go into a prevent defense against Farve's last drive. Farve threw an interception. One thing I liked about Dale Earnhardt is that Earnhardt, being a sports fan, hated prevent defenses. :^)
