Sheesh - you prefer skinny bimbos to real women? Paula can't put a complete sentence together without help. Add in the "I'm too sexy for this show" crap that CNN tried with their ad campaign and her fake outrage, her left-leaning "reporting", and stringy hair-in-the-face look, and I prefer E.D.

No, he's old fashioned and likes to lounge on the bed and hold the paper in his hands. As it will be mailed, there'll be a time delay of maybe five days or so, so we'll see how he likes getting the news late.
Maybe he'll opt for online when renewal comes in 6 months. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think Fox News is being insensitive to CNNs plight. You forgot to put behind this statement.....sarcasm/off....you did forget didn't you??????

Let's reflect a moment about CNN. They may get a story wrong; they may get a story right. My opinion of CNN is that they are not a professional news agency. CNN is known for its creative, left-leaning journalism; therefore anything CNN has to "report" is meaningless to me.

I get your point but I think you're off base here.
From what you are saying, CNN could report, "We have just received an email notifying us that Sid Blumenthal has committed suicide after being arrested for lewd conduct with up to twenty boys, ranging in age from 4 to 10 years old", and it would be okay because they are only
reporting that they
received an email.
Actually, I think that Walter Isaacson is steering the CNN ship in the right direction. As far as the piling on here at FR goes, well CNN has a long way to go to pay for its disgusting Rick Kaplan / Ted Turner legacy. Walter has his work cut out for him.

**Does David Weston of ABC have an opinion regarding the kidnapping of Danny Pearl? Or is he remaining objective and making no judgements? Just wondering.**
If he's consistent, he should have no opinion whatsoever as to whether a reporter is a legitimate target. But I'll bet he's not consistent.
To: College Repub
that FOX morning show is as lame as a PBS effort Sad to say our family has to watch local laughing jackasses instead. And that weather guy has no business on TV imho
To: dfwgator
**CNN has a long way to go to match ABC on the day Reagan was shot, when they erroneously said that Jim Brady had died.**
I miss the late Frank Reynolds. As colorless an anchorman as you'd ever see in the big chair but he went nuclear when he had to retract that story. It was priceless television.

Yeah...LAMEEEEEE....I can't stand IMUS either. I watch Paula in the morning...unless VH1 has something good on...
To: College Repub
I like Imus simply because the format is at least different...no hairspray asses which I loathe

Regarding the veracity of emails: emails contain header information, which contains a list of servers they have passed en route from the sender to the destination.
If you are using Outlook, you can view a header by opening a message and choosing the View/Options menu. You will see the internet header. That is one point of comparison. The other is the inclusion of a code word, which is then subsequently used to indicate the emails come from the same source.
The most sophisticated way is to digitally sign the email, which means it is encrypted with a private key. The reader can use a public key to open it. But only the holder of the correct starting private key can encrypt it in this way. If the email is digitally signed, you can verify its provenance with certainty.
This doesn't bear on the CNN's justication, one way or the other. It just show how a given email can be confirmed.
To: spycatcher
and aren't too happy that CNN basically reports that the guy's head was blown off without any confirmation whatsoever.Blown off would be out of character, though it is my personal opinion that his head has been removed from his body.

Is this just another example of CNN in its Death Throes before the long knife bean counters at AOL slice, dice it and sell what's left.
I feel like buying a little AOL stock and then sending them weekly emails to cut the cancer, CNN, and throw it away before wasting more money.
I really feel that CNN as we know it will gone way before GW runs for re election in 2004. It would be nice if they disappeared before this year was over.
To: RAT Patrol
I don't know if CNN is stupid, Check...
heartless,
Affirmative...
or just really that greedy
Congratulations, you hit the trifecta.

MarMema, That's true, it's usually just removed for display. Although the photo with the gun to his head gave more imagery to the CNN report.
Also, the thing to remember about this whole episode is the bogus email was sent to Fox and CNN. Fox played it safe. CNN decided to be the hero and announce the alleged death news instead of getting comfirmation and verification of the email. In doing so they decided to become part of the story. They should have just passed the email on to negotiators and reported what the negotiators determined and thought was prudent to make public.
CNN didn't consider that these guys don't think like us. It's possible that upon hearing a hoax as "news" that the kidnappers world feel offended, double-crossed and lied about, causing them to change whatever plan they may have had to release him unharmed. So if that were the case, CNN could be responsible for his eventual murder. They would then smugly report that they were right all along to go with the story.

Thanks....;-) They deserved it.

That doesn't matter...they still reported the email saying that the "kidnappers have claimed to have killed Danny Pearl". They should never have done that without having proof. It was just another way for them to get more viewers.
CNN SUCKS.
