You statements reminded me of an old Twilight episode where the aliens come to earth to be our friends and have us over for dinner. I think it was a "The Outer Limits" tv show, and the story was based on a SF book. The premise being this advanced race of aliens shows up with their new technology. They are welcomed with open arms once the first translations of their explanation for being here is translated as "to serve humans".
It turned out earthlings were the main course.
Bingo! Proving that translations must be VERY precise, and that sometimes words have more than one meaning.

reporter by any chance? know one? love one?Nope.
...all the kidnappers yourself and tell them what youre telling us, and dont be offended by the dial tone you hear after you tell them, "we have freedom of the press here in america!"
If they don't like our God-given freedoms...*&@#! 'em.

Like I said before, many Americans are putting themselves at risk everyday right here in America to do their job.
Are we to celebrate those who preform those jobs recklessly when the need for recklessness does not exist?

What needs to be done now is the commander of GITMO should take all the prisoners out and execute them!!
To: Alarm Clock
if this is true then the Pakis at X-Ray need to be executed by sundown Proving only that we are as bad as the terrorists, and actually making them heroes instead of bums.
then crate the corpses and airlift said crate to the kidnappers
If we knew exactly where they are,I'd rather see a company of Rangers airlifted into there.
you wanna play ?
I know this question is directed towards the terrorists, but allow me to answer it. "No,I do NOT want to play". I want to take this serious and win.

I agree with what you said.

It is clear that you do not know what you are talking about. SD Travel warnings state that if something happens you are on your own.
I also believe, that when traveling to countries that have an advisory out on them that it is common for travelers to sign documents to the effect that they know they are on their own if something happens and that the US Government will not be coming to get them.
I know for a fact that many employers who send employees on trips into such contries have their employees sign such documents.
Emotions are over riding facts on this thread.

Now that Daniel Pearl has seen who this "peaceful muslims" really are, the more reason the savages have to cut his throat. I bet Daniel is dead already, poor man. 54 posted on 2/1/02 8:17 AM Pacific by GHCubana
Unfortunately I was right when I posted this earlier.
May God give his wife strenght and may justice be done. Be safe and stay away from muslim savages.

yeah, youre right about what to do with them if they dont like our given rights, but the reality is still there that we have known for a long time, hence the warning, that these cats dont get into G-d given rights.

Are we to celebrate those who preform those jobs recklessly when the need for recklessness does not exist?Airline pilots are taking a risk, right? People don't have to travel by plane. A car will get a person where they need to go. Should all of the pilots quit? Too many FReepers on this thread are willing to give in to the 'demands' and scare tactics of terrorists. It's just what they want. Don't do it....don't play the game their way. Stand tall for liberty.

One person puts himself in danger so we send some of our young men into harms way to rescue him endangering their lives as well.....this could of all been avoided in the first place if that one person would have taken heed of this warning.
But that's ok....just send in a few GI's to take care of the situation, when they get killed or wounded you can comfort his parents by telling them that, that was his job.....better yet...you go or send your son, we'll be right behind you.....you are brave with other people's lives. I just love all these computer generals....
Well said - worth a repost.

But we're treating them badly in Gitmo.......... they're not scum.............(sarcasm off) This is an outrage..... I hope FOX has it right.........that he's still alive.

I think she was just trying to be as composed as possible and not crack up on international TV. Somebody probably wisely advised her to do her best to stay calm because the kidnappers would draw strength and determination if she seemed about to go to pieces. They are more likely to let him go if they don't think everybody in the west is about to panic at the threats they have made.
To: Born in a Rage
oh boy, you say we want to give up our freedoms now? the point is these freedoms have been taken away in pakistan and elsewhere.... maybe with some intense military activity, and NO interference from the liberals in the press and elsewhere, these freedoms can perhaps be spread around the globe.
To: Born in a Rage
If they don't like our God-given freedoms...*&@#! 'em. Our "god given freedoms" and constitutional protections are not recognized nor protected in other contries. Engage in normal everyday American behaviour in a foreign land where it is not allowed and see how far "I'm and American" or "Constitutional rights" gets you.
To: Phantom Lord
you said it better than i did, thanks

I don't know, I am just telling you what another reporter in Afghanistan said on FOX. Pearl may have been looking for information on the shoe bomber but he knew the risks that he was taking and he still went alone. I am not blaming him, I am just saying that it wasn't smart. The reporter who was speaking couldn't understand why Pearl would take such a risk.

Just because some signs a disclaimer, it doesn't mean abandoning them is the right thing to do....especially not if the threat was intended to 'dare' and intimidate the United States of America. All for one and one for all, that's what I say. United we stand, divided we fall!
