Fraudulent Democrat Scheme Fails as Bush Soars

BUSH: NATIONAL SECURITY 1st PRIORITY. . ."I will not wait on events, while dangers gather."

THE CLINTON LEGACY PLACED IN STARK RELIEF

by Mia T, January 31, 2002

by any measure, the Carville-Shrum scheme to attack Bush by clintonoid compartmentalization ("praise the Bush war effort / pan the Bush character and economy") isn't working. Ask any pollster or pundit.

It's the terrorism...and character...stupid

The Carville-Shrum scheme fails because the schemers fail to understand that terrorism necessarily subsumes the economy, that "it's the terrorism, stupid," to paraphrase Carville. The Carville-Shrum scheme fails also because the schemers fail to understand that bill clinton, to paraphrase Lloyd Benson, is no George Bush...and conversely...and the people know it.

But perhaps the most compelling reason that the Carville-Shrum scheme fails is that it is a fraud...and the people know it.

Compartmentalization scheme a fraud

Does anyone still sentient after eight years of the clintons really believe that the clintons and their "infrastructure" really want Bush to succeed where the co-rapists failed so utterly?

To sabotage Bush is merely to extend into realtime the method of legacy-building historically preferred by the clintons; that is, trash other presidents in an effort to hoist their own sorry collective heft from history's dustbin.

The clintons are constitutionally incapable of understanding that the bottom line is not power or money or Nobel Peace Prizes, and certainly not misbegotten power or money or Nobel Peace Prizes.

They and their minions continue to undermine the Bush war effort even as they assume poses and mouth poll-tested phrases to the contrary. But Bush sees right through this.

In his State of the Union speech, Bush told us:

Our first priority must always be the security of our nation... I will not wait on events, while dangers gather.  I will not stand by, as peril draws closer and closer... We can't stop short.  If we stop now -- leaving terror camps intact and terror states unchecked -- our sense of security would be false and temporary...The price of indifference would be catastrophic.

This was a direct blow to the collective clinton scheme...and paunch...and legacy.

As we gather tonight, our nation is at war, our economy is in recession, and the civilized world faces unprecedented dangers.  Yet the state of our Union has never been stronger.  (Applause.)

We last met in an hour of shock and suffering.  In four short months, our nation has comforted the victims, begun to rebuild New York and the Pentagon, rallied a great coalition, captured, arrested, and rid the world of thousands of terrorists, destroyed Afghanistan's terrorist training camps, saved a people from starvation, and freed a country from brutal oppression.  (Applause.)...

Our cause is just, and it continues.  Our discoveries in Afghanistan confirmed our worst fears, and showed us the true scope of the task ahead. We have seen the depth of our enemies' hatred in videos, where they laugh about the loss of innocent life.  And the depth of their hatred is equaled by the madness of the destruction they design.  We have found diagrams of American nuclear power plants and public water facilities, detailed instructions for making chemical weapons, surveillance maps of American cities, and thorough descriptions of landmarks in America and throughout the world.

What we have found in Afghanistan confirms that, far from ending there, our war against terror is only beginning.  Most of the 19 men who hijacked planes on September the 11th were trained in Afghanistan's camps, and so were tens of thousands of others.   Thousands of dangerous killers, schooled in the methods of murder, often supported by outlaw regimes, are now spread throughout the world like ticking time bombs, set to go off without warning...

Our nation will continue to be steadfast and patient and persistent in the pursuit of two great objectives.  First, we will shut down terrorist camps, disrupt terrorist plans, and bring terrorists to justice.  And, second, we must prevent the terrorists and regimes who seek chemical, biological or nuclear weapons from threatening the United States and the world.  (Applause.)...

States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world.  By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger.  They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred.  They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States.  In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic.

We will work closely with our coalition to deny terrorists and their state sponsors the materials, technology, and expertise to make and deliver weapons of mass destruction.  We will develop and deploy effective missile defenses to protect America and our allies from sudden attack.  (Applause.) And all nations should know:  America will do what is necessary to ensure our nation's security.

We'll be deliberate, yet time is not on our side.  I will not wait on events, while dangers gather.  I will not stand by, as peril draws closer and closer.  The United States of America will not permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world's most destructive weapons.  (Applause.)

Our war on terror is well begun, but it is only begun.  This campaign may not be finished on our watch -- yet it must be and it will be waged on our watch.

We can't stop short.  If we stop now -- leaving terror camps intact and terror states unchecked -- our sense of security would be false and temporary.  History has called America and our allies to action, and it is both our responsibility and our privilege to fight freedom's fight.  (Applause.)

Our first priority must always be the security of our nation...

During these last few months, I've been humbled and privileged to see the true character of this country in a time of testing.  Our enemies believed America was weak and materialistic, that we would splinter in fear and selfishness.  They were as wrong as they are evil.  (Applause.)

The American people have responded magnificently, with courage and compassion, strength and resolve.  As I have met the heroes, hugged the families, and looked into the tired faces of rescuers, I have stood in awe of the American people.

And I hope you will join me -- I hope you will join me in expressing thanks to one American for the strength and calm and comfort she brings to our nation in crisis, our First Lady, Laura Bush.  (Applause.)

None of us would ever wish the evil that was done on September the 11th.  Yet after America was attacked, it was as if our entire country looked into a mirror and saw our better selves.  We were reminded that we are citizens, with obligations to each other, to our country, and to history.  We began to think less of the goods we can accumulate, and more about the good we can do.

For too long our culture has said, "If it feels good, do it."  Now America is embracing a new ethic and a new creed: "Let's roll." (Applause.) In the sacrifice of soldiers, the fierce brotherhood of firefighters, and the bravery and generosity of ordinary citizens, we have glimpsed what a new culture of responsibility could look like.  We want to be a nation that serves goals larger than self.  We've been offered a unique opportunity, and we must not let this moment pass.  (Applause.)...

No nation owns these aspirations, and no nation is exempt from them.  We have no intention of imposing our culture.  But America will always stand firm for the non-negotiable demands of human dignity:  the rule of law; limits on the power of the state; respect for women; private property; free speech; equal justice; and religious tolerance.  (Applause.)

America will take the side of brave men and women who advocate these values around the world, including the Islamic world, because we have a greater objective than eliminating threats and containing resentment.  We seek a just and peaceful world beyond the war on terror...

In a single instant, we realized that this will be a decisive decade in the history of liberty, that we've been called to a unique role in human events.  Rarely has the world faced a choice more clear or consequential.

Our enemies send other people's children on missions of suicide and murder.  They embrace tyranny and death as a cause and a creed.  We stand for a different choice, made long ago, on the day of our founding.  We affirm it again today.  We choose freedom and the dignity of every life. (Applause.)

Steadfast in our purpose, we now press on.  We have known freedom's price.  We have shown freedom's power.  And in this great conflict, my fellow Americans, we will see freedom's victory.

Thank you all.  May God bless.  (Applause.)

rodham clinton REALITY CHECK bump!

Clinton's failure to grasp the opportunity to unravel increasingly organized extremists, coupled with Berger's assessments of their potential to directly threaten the U.S., represents one of the most serious foreign policy failures in American history

Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize

Bill Clinton may not be the worst president America has had, but surely he is the worst person to be president.*

---GEORGE WILL, Sleaze, the sequel

Had George Will written Sleaze, the sequel (the "sequel" is, of course, hillary) after 9-11-01, I suspect that he would have had to forgo the above conceit, as the doubt expressed in the setup phrase was, from that day forward, no longer operational.

Indeed, assessing the clinton presidency an abject failure is not inconsistent with commentary coming from the left, most recently the LA Times: "Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize."

When the clintons left office, I predicted that the country would eventually learn--sadly, the hard way--that this depraved, self-absorbed and inept pair had placed America (and the world) in mortal danger. But I was thinking years, not months.

It is very significant that hillary clinton didn't deny clinton culpability for the terrorism. (Meet the Press, 12-09-01), notwithstanding tired tactics (if you can't pass the buck, spread the blame) and chronic "KnowNothing Victim Clinton" self-exclusion.

If leftist pandering keeps the disenfranchized down in perpetuity, clinton pandering,("it's the economy, stupid"), kept the middle and upper classes wilfully ignorant for eight years.

And ironically, both results (leftist social policy and the clinton economy) are equally illusory, fraudulent. It is becoming increasingly clear that clinton assiduously avoided essential actions that would have negatively impacted the economy--the ultimate source of his continued power--actions like, say, going after the terrorists.

It is critically important that hillary clinton fail in her grasp for power; read Peggy Noonan's little book, 'The Case Against Hillary Clinton' and Barbara Olson's two books; it is critical that the West de-clintonize, but that will be automatic once it is understood that the clintons risked civilization itself in order to gain and retain power.

It shouldn't take books, however, to see that a leader is a dangerous, self-absorbed sicko. People should be able to figure that out for themselves. The electorate must be taught to think, to reason. It must be able to spot spin, especially in this age of the electronic demagogue.

I am not hopeful. As Bertrand Russell noted, "Most people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so. "

*George Will continues: There is reason to believe that he is a rapist ("You better get some ice on that," Juanita Broaddrick says he told her concerning her bit lip), and that he bombed a country to distract attention from legal difficulties arising from his glandular life, and that. ... Furthermore, the bargain that he and his wife call a marriage refutes the axiom that opposites attract. Rather, she, as much as he, perhaps even more so, incarnates Clintonism

I always like this Posted Source.

But I gotta tell you, the Font and color mix is hard to read. What I do is save the article as text and then convert all the text to a single sized font face. usually arial.

That complaint aside. Yet another excellent Post!

Car-vile and his henchpersons don't seem to know what we know here in the Oklahoma Outback: 1. It's not prudent to play prairie frisbee, and 2. It's doubly imprudent to play prairie frisbee with fresh "frisbees." The, uh, frisbees you throw have this tendency to prominently soil even the frisbee tosser. Such is the case with many of the "scandals" these folks keep trying to cook up.

When, like the Clinton crime family, you've had your fingers in almost every illegal scheme in operation for 8 long years, it's hard to find one that can be pinned on someone else that the Clinton crime family (including all Democrats) hasn't been involved in--up to their ears.

My dear departed mother always quoted George Will when talking about Clinton. She used to say that his statement that Clinton may have not been the worst president but was the worst person to be president summed up the previous eight years, perfectly. I am just glad that my mother was able to see George W. Bush as the new president before she passed on.

The Carville/Shrum/Greenberg strategy won't work, but it's the only one they have--for now.

You know what will happen between now and November, though, doncha? Soon, it will be time for the Dems to start scaring the old folks again, making bogus claims about what Bush wants to do to Medicare and Social Security.

The question is: will the press give them a free ride? They may not this time. With the notable exception of the usual leftist extremists, like Helen Thomas, the media, overall, is treating Bush better than they have other Republicans. NOW DON'T YELL AT ME!! I SAID, 'BETTER,' NOT GOOD!! I think there are several reasons why this is the case, but that's fodder for another thread.

Nice work, Mia.

Q ERTY6 (clinton was an utter failure and the GOP had better exploit it) bump!

We must take the offensive.

Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference today (C-SPAN), Bob Livingston dispatched "it's the economy, stupid," the clinton mantra -- (and together with the FBI files, the only thing that kept the rapist in the Oval Office and out of the slammer) -- with an incisiveness and toughness not usually associated with the GOP. (Is the right finally getting it?)

Livingston said "it's the economy, stupid," demonstrated that clinton and his administration are either stupid, themselves, or they were derelict.

I, too, have always understood the Clinton morph to the nuke graphic and believe it is one that every American must see. Why? Because it is the Clinton dereliction of duty to every single American that has led us to the brink of disaster which we tasted so bitterly on September 11th!

These words - "I will not wait on events, while dangers gather. I will not stand by, as peril draws closer and closer... We can't stop short. If we stop now -- leaving terror camps intact and terror states unchecked -- our sense of security would be false and temporary...The price of indifference would be catastrophic. " just give me chills because we know President Bush understands the severity of the danger for the American people, and for our nation as a whole, and is committed to doing whatever he can as our Commander in Chief to preventing said disasters.

You are right, MiaT. The 'good guys' MUST find their GRIT, patterning on our President, and have the guts to stand up and say the truth: that without a determination and commitment to protect our country (which was totally missing during the Clinton crime years) - our nation is vulnerable to destruction. EVen with this new awareness of the danger and commitment by our President and most Americans to our defenses, such danger continues.

Had Algore gone into office, there is no question in my mind that the morph to nuke picture would have already occurred in this country.

The anti-American destroyers are still out there, continuing their work of undermining the safety and security of every American (for instance, in the defense of terrorists in the prison and elsewhere). I am ready to start imprisoning these people for their complicity with those out to kill us! But, I suppose....we are not at that point yet.

COLUMN: Memo to Clinton: No, you can't buy me a drink
By Joshua Skolnick
Brown Daily Herald (Brown U.)
01/31/2002
Respond to this article.

(U-WIRE) PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Watching the State of the Union address on Tuesday night, I experienced a fundamental change in the way I view our country. As a columnist, I spend a good amount of time gauging where we are as a country, and where we are going.

Last year, I wrote a column explaining exactly why Bill Clinton was correct in stating that the State of the Union is the strongest it has ever been in his farewell speech. Today, I realized exactly what was so bankrupt and empty about that statement. Today, Bill Clinton's America was finally swept into the dustbin of history as little more than an old page from a tabloid newspaper. Like an old relationship that was shallow and based on sex, Clinton felt like nothing compared to what we have now. The America of vacillation, of two-faced explanations, of posturing and politicking, now seems to have been put to bed. The New America is an America that is confident of its values. At Brown, many, like Clinton, are lost. We may spend endless time debating values, debating what the meaning of "is" is or the various ways we can deconstruct anything that anyone says. This is all very interesting, but when it comes down to it, and I am asked what my values are, I find that they were summed up beautifully by George W. Bush. His speech made me swell with love of country, and disdain for college. That speech made me want to live in America, not at Brown. I had been duped into falling in love with Clinton's America. Bush's speech made me realize just how wrong I was.

If Clinton was a womanizer (the "if" is probably unnecessary) than I am a woman. He got me. He made me think that this country's welfare was based on our sky-high stock market prices. He took me out to dinner, paid for everything, and told me that I had beautiful eyes. I was a fool not to notice the mischief going on beneath the table.

We were all taken in by Clinton. Year after year, he gave the most boring, detailed, laundry-list State of the Union addresses, and yet we clung to his every word. We scoffed at critics such as John McCain, who rightly stated that Clinton conducted a "photo-op foreign policy." We collectively stared into his eyes while terrorist camps were being armed in Afghanistan. This is not to be taken lightly. Our foolishness, in part, led to our vulnerability on Spet. 11. If the Clinton Era hadn't gotten us drunk on the "good times", we could have pressured our leaders to make terror-fighting a top-priority. Instead, we woke up with our clothes off.

In walked George W. Bush. On Tuesday night, he helped us put our clothes back on. He made us realize that we were more than our GDP, more than the latest tabloid. He gave us the shocking realization that this country is built on actual values. Free speech. Private property. Compassion for those who are less fortunate. Few other countries in the world with such power and prestige at their hand would actually mention, in what was the first assessment of the state of the union since a major foreign invasion, that we wanted to try to understand the peoples and the countries where this hatred is bred.

The speech on Tuesday night was like a cool glass of water the morning after a frat party. You can't believe you went home with that girl, can't believe you drank so much, but you're glad to finally be back home.

Unfortunately, Brown University doesn't quite feel like home. Essentially, the average Brown student is like a girl who has one bad experience with a male and then swears males off forever. When America commits one atrocity somewhere in Peru in 1979, or America is a bit too harsh on terrorists who, if not caught, would have tried to kill us, they swear off America forever. The fact is, America is a great nation. Certainly this is an opinion, but I look at the facts and feel proud of who we are, and who we are aiming to be.

When I remembered my statements about Bill Clinton's last State of the Union address, it was like reading an old love letter that you sent to a real whore of a girl. The bad news is, at Brown, that girl's best friend lives next door. The good news is, now, like a guest on Jerry Springer, I've got a new man.
