Shoot down anything that flies within 5 miles of themThat wouldn't work to well at the Three Mile Island unit as there are several Airports within that range.
Next suggestion!!

"Semper Glad that I have Potassium Iodate"Honey, if someone hits the core of a nuclear reactor, your thyroid's the last thing you're gonna be worrying about.

The one thread I ever started on Free Republic, within 24 hours of the 9/11 attacks btw, had to do with exactly this possibility. It got yanked; I assume because it was thought too provocative.

good job, brew. sounds like FEX is on it. Of course, FEX is a PRIVATE SECTOR company, not a goobermint operation.....

If you are near one of these targets YOU may go away.

CRAP. Indian Point nuclear plant is only 25 miles from NY City. And it's along the Hudson river, so finding it visually from the air is not a difficult task.

If they were to take a cargo plane I 'spect they'd shoot/stab/pummell to death the crew before they ever left the ground.
Audacity they are not short of. Which keeps me wondering about the missing (and probably armored) Ayers cropduster with the special long-range ferrying setup. Did they kill the pilot on the ground and steal it? It IS easy to lose small planes and never find them, but you'd think the search would be quite intensive, considering the downside risk.

He's just upset with himself because your screen name reminded him of the last time he flew and forgot to bring chewing gum to stop his ears from popping. LOL

Well MoJo, You just can't resist it can you. I apologized publically for the misinformation that was posted r.e. defcon (as had been provided to me), but, you, in your wisdom are the knowall-beall-doall. R9etb wasn't even around then but your previous incarnation as MoJo was. You are still a blithering idiot.

But security is still penetrable.

I am very ignorant on this subject....what is a waste pool and what would happen if it was attacked?

And don't forget, Fred Smith (Uncle Fred, to those of us in the Fed Ex Family) is ex-military!

Honey, if someone hits the core of a nuclear reactor, your thyroid's the last thing you're gonna be worrying about. My dear, I don't live anywhere near a nuclear reactor :) But there's this little thing we call "wind" - ya know?
To: Looking for Diogenes
You are dead right. The real target would not be the containment vessel itself which is usually double walled with 5 foot thick concrete walls with solid rebar surrounding an inner steel container. But the leftover waste outside if hit and burnt in a fire could spread radioactive waste everywhere. All the more reason to get the waste depository in Nevada open ASAP.

If it happens again, just FReepmail the moderator and asked why the thread was pulled.
