Of course both parties are ignoring the REAL threat to our very existence as a country - CHINA. This was troublesome to me when I heard Bush say this in the SOTU, and even moreso that Rumsfeld is repeating it. They know something and are preparing us for it. =( Logically, I know that there is a lot more to what's been going on; but I guess I, like lots of others, have gone back to "life as normal".

I dunno. Opening trade with China only feeds their military. We have tons of reasons to severly curtail trade with China (human rights abuses, unfair trading practices, shooting down our surveillance planes, threatening Taiwan,etc) but we don't. These things are quite plain to see.
