Seven years from now, after the government budget has continued to expand at a rate greater than inflation are you still going to be using the "well...he ain't Al Gore!!!" dodge? Can you not name one federally funded program that Bush wants to cut? Great, Bush was against Kyoto. So are many Democrats. Especially Dems from auto producing states. But Bush is your guy. Not because of any great principle of course. It seems that for many this is no different than supporting the home town football team. I believe CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES are worth fighting for. Even Clinton treatened and then vetoed budgets that a Republican House and Senate sent him. Has Bush threatened a veto of any budget that does not rein in out of control liberal spending? It seems that this Bush is a bigger whimp than the last one.

In contrast, you've managed to avoid admitting the obvious: you haven't been denied a single right.

Here's a couple off the top of my head:

I have the inalienable right to keep and enjoy the fruits of my labor. The Constitution was forged to protect that right and others. The Constitution allowed government to spend money that it taxed from me only on certain, specified activities. Any other activities upon which they spend my tax money amounts to theft/confiscation of that money (the fruits of my labor) for activities that the government is not authorized to engage in. They have denied me of the right to that money they have confiscated.

And if I don't voluntarily give them that money - the fruits of my labor - they will then take away other rights such as property (they'll take away things I own), liberty (they'll put me in jail if I still try to keep my money), and life (they'll have to shoot me if I refuse to go to jail).

Also, as a citizen of the United States of America I have been guaranteed by the Constitution that the government will protect my country. I voluntarily pay the portion of my taxes appropriated for this so that they can perform the task. However, they are not protecting this nation's borders - in fact some of Bush's programs are practically inviting illegal aliens/foreign criminals into this nation. These invaders are subverting the economy, the culture, and the election process of this nation.

And you don't have to entirely take away a right or a freedom - making it non-existant - before the incursion should be noticed and resisted. The very infringement upon a right or freedom in an area in which our government was not constitutionally authorized should not be so easily tolerated. We owe it to the founding fathers and those who fought to remove tyranny from this land to jealously protect each and every freedom we have. If not, they died in vain.

I had a quarter, to call someone who cared,
About our nation and how it faired.
Ten rings I waited, as good phone etiquette decrees,
"Maggie's Drawers" were just flapping in the breeze.
I placed the call, but it didn't do any good,
Steadily ringing, I put it down when I should.

I told my neighbors what I saw taking place,
They said the cops would be coming with mace.
I thought they could use my quarter for themselves,
I wasn't surprised to see it was dusty on the shelves.
I took back my quarter to try and call once again,
I was called a thief and told "stealing is a sin."

I've called many times and never an answer I get,
I've gotten so angry that I could just spit.
But I stopped trying to reach anyone some time ago,
I got tired of telling others to watch the magic show.
For the magician has always got something up his sleeve,
That he doesn't is what he needs you to believe.

Nice spin. Worthy of Clinton, but no cigar.

Taxes do not DENY specific rights to or from you. Nor are taxes voluntary, but that's for another discussion thread.

In short, either you have been personally denied a right or you haven't. There is no gray area.

If you can't cite a specific right that you've been physically denied, then one can only presume that your rants about "losing rights" are bogus.

So put up or shut up. What RIGHT have you been denied?

Southack, please name one government program Bush has proposed to cut. "Put up or shut up!" (I love taking on liberal Republican defenders like Southack!)

I'm sorry, you're obviously far to dense to debate this with. Your statements prove it. I've got other things to do then to play with mental midgets like you waving their Bush/GOP pom-poms in my face.

Sheesh! I'd have to give up all of my money in order for peabrain Republican Party shill here to admit I've given up one right.

Other than supporting some vagues sense of "constitutional government," your posts and viewpoints are of little value.

Remember: the same electorate that elected Bill Clinton twice, elected George Bush.

The sheeple will never learn.

Saw that.. gee a little plagarism? Plagarized a great source too!!! LOL

One year.. and we are eating our own. Amazing..huh?

Been very strange around here lately. I mean, there were always people who acted like "chicken little" whenever any thing happened they didn't understand. But this is reactionism in it's highest form. And not rational if you are hoping to keep a conservative in office. It only benefits the people who are worried the most about President Bush's Presidency, the Dems.

I'd sure like to know who or what they think is a viable alternative. Your absolutely right.. it "is" Bush bashing. I think it is hilarious that all these "Indian Chief" wanna be's have all the answers. "If only I could be King".. amazing.. just amazing!!!

FRegards!!

Bush cut the federal government's CO2 regulation program from the EPA.

Bush cut OSHA's home-office ergonomic regulation program, too.

Bush proposed to cut the military spending last year.

Bush proposed to privatize part of Social Security.

Bush cut federal funding for foreign "family planning", as well.

Bush also cut taxes. You'll also see liberals scream next week when they see that Bush's new budget cuts some of their pet programs.

What was that saying about "never argue with a fool or a liar"? I think Southack is living proof. It's like conversing with a 12 year old.

"Sheesh! I'd have to give up all of my money in order for peabrain Republican Party shill here to admit I've given up one right."

Only if you were honest.

Until you have completely lost something, you haven't given up a right or been denied a right.

Here in Alabama, there was once a time when Blacks were denied the right to vote. You trivialize such tragedies by claiming that being taxed means that you've lost rights each and every day.

Rubbish.

Name a right that you've lost or go flee this thread for less challenging areas.

I'm one of the old-time freepers you mentioned and I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so....over and over again until I was bashed so hard I almost left here for good and only make it back once in a blue moon anymore. Americans are truly pathetic. If any significant number of us had ever read, let alone understood, the writings of our Founding Fathers then revolution would have long ago been unavoidable. As it is, the psychiatrists who polute our society with their dribble and drugs have, ironically enough, the perfect term for us....denial.

"Rights denied? Try FISA secret warrantless searches, keylogging programs, national ID cards on the way, Carnivore on your ISPs and and Magic Lantern...Try more EPA regulations aimed at your property. Try more gun regulations."

Nope. None of those items deny rights. First of all, Magic Lantern IS the keylogging program, so let's not try to double up our meager criticisms by changing their names, shall we (at least a modicrum of intellectual honesty would be nice to see). Second, the National ID card hasn't been passed, so it CLEARLY hasn't denied you any rights (good grief, we're back to that intellectual honesty point again - and so soon!).

Third, Carnivore is legal and doesn't deny you ANY rights. If you want privacy, you don't mail a postcard. Rather, you send a letter inside an envelope. In the computer world, when you want privacy you send an ENCRYPTED message, and CARNIVORE can't break strong encryption nor deny you from using it.

Warrantless searches? For whom? Non-citizens? Even then, searches still require approval. You're probably confusing warrantless with "lack of need to notify" that a search has taken place, but I'll leeave that for you to work out over time. Safe to say that YOU haven't been victimized by a warrantless search.

Gun regulations? The most recent gun regulation that has been signed into law PROHIBITS government from stopping pilots from arming themselves. When I was out at the range last week, I could still purchase ANY and EVERY gun that I desired, so no loss of rights there (especially at the FEDERAL level - sometimes Bush-bashers get so desperate they start tossing around state laws rather than federal - let's not go there).
