.. then whatz the problem, dear?Or are we just wasting bandwidth? The problem is that duplicate articles
are a waste of bandwidth, and Mr
Robinson wants them to be greatly
reduced in number. I'm sure you
don't think bandwidth is free, nor
that Mr Robinson is being obnoxious.
Wow. Would you please not speak for me?
The wasted bandwidth in parallel posts consists solely of original posts. Replies are unique and constitute, individually and cumulatively, the essence of FR.
The problem is that duplicate articles are a waste of bandwidth, and Mr Robinson wants them to be greatly reduced in number. Oh bull.......
A single PICTURE takes up more 'bandwidth' than any duplicate post.
IMHO, duplicates SEPARATE the replies from one another and FULL participation in the debate is spread across the dual (or triple...) posts and the effect is then diluted.
It would seem to me that instead of deleteing any extra post on the same subject, they could somehow be merged together. It may add a bit of work for the moderators, but it would save MUCH more for responders.
Now, if you want to see a
BANDWIDTH BLACK HOLE.....
