You are supposed to do a search of the headline of the article you are going to post to see if anybody else posted it already. That's why JimRob wants us to not alter the title, so that we can find an article if it has already been posted.
However, I have sometimes gotten tripped up because the same article may appear on a different website under a different title. For example, an article from the AP wire may have a certain headline but the same article may appear on the Washington Times website under a different headline.

Agreed. If I'm about to post an article amd I see it's already here and stagnant, I BTTT it so others may get a chance to see it.

A comparison of authors names might catch that, though there appears to be no way to do it at present using the FReep search engine as it's now arranged. And of course, non-bylined stories wouldn't return a hit.

At least you tried to search for the title.
Sometimes there are three, four, and five posts still on the board with the same title.

What if we made the author's name a keyword for each post? That way, a keyword search of the name would reveal the prior post. Or would this screw up the whole keyword concept?
