Thanks! Have Andersen as a branch of family name....

GLOBAL CROSSING SAYS TO KEEP ANDERSEN AS AUDITOR

Global Crossing is audited by accounting firm Andersen, which is currently embroiled in the scandal surrounding collapsed energy trader Enron. The accounting firm has come under attack for blessing Enron's books, which were later restated, and for admitting that its employees destroyed documents related to its audit of Enron.

In 2000, Andersen billed Global Crossing $2.3 million for audit fees, but nearly $12 million in other non-audit fees that included fees from consulting services, according to the telecom company's proxy filing. Legere said Global Crossing has no plans to change its auditor.

Mr. Feingold cited the numerous "tributes" to members of Congress sponsored by major corporations and attended by donors of $20,000 to $100,000. Among them are a luncheon for Senator Dianne Feinstein of California sponsored by Chevron and a dinner for Senator Tom Daschle of South Dakota paid for by Global Crossing, a telecommunications company. BellSouth, US West, EchoStar Communications and United Parcel Service are paying for a concert by Cheryl Crow on behalf of Senator Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont.

well, George Bush could have prevented this...yeah, that's the ticket.

But if he would have let the company fail, Mr. McUgly would never have accepted this money. He was trying to save the company.

(It's too hard trying to think like a Dem.)
