TEHRAN TIMES POLITICAL DESK

TEHRAN Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Sadr has voiced Iran's complete support for the Palestinian Intifada and called on other countries to follow suit, it was reported Monday.

Sadr conveyed a message from President Mohammad Khatami to Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Saeid in Sahar on Sunday night, alluding to the latest regional developments, particularly the critical situation in the occupied territories. He said it concerned him that Zionist forces continued to massacre oppressed Palestinians with Washington's blessing, and underlined the need for Islamic states to make more efforts to help restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinians.

Sultan Qaboos also said that the aid currently provided by Arab and Muslim states to the Palestinian resistance movement is insufficient, and said the Zionist regime's expansionist policies were disturbing and should be countered.

The two officials also discussed the expansion of Tehran and Muscat's reciprocal cooperation as well as the latest developments in Afghanistan and Iraq.

In a related report released by IRNA, on Sunday Sadr also met the Omani Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yousuf bin Ali al-Alawi bin Abdullah, and underlined the importance of a continued exchange of views between the two countries' officials to further improve the already increasing bilateral ties.

TEHRAN The two-day International Seminar on Islamic Media, involving 140 journalists from 30 countries, will begin in Tehran today, the secretary of the seminar stated yesterday. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) is sponsoring the event in order to promote a sense of unity in the Islamic press.

Mr. Bamdad said that the Palestinian territories has been the center of events in the Islamic world in the past, and since the September 11 attacks and their aftermath, the region has become even more sensitive.

"The occupier Zionist regime, with the support of most of the internationally recognized media and under the banner of war against terrorism, continues to commit crimes in the occupied territories," he added.

Bamdad also suggested that unity in the Islamic media was "very helpful", and that "at this point the harmony can keep the Intifada alive."

This should dissolve anyone's doubt on whose side of the "with us or with the terrorist" statement the Iranians are on.

With much pomp and ceremony, the army of Persia rode out to confront Alexander the Macedonian. After a touch and go battle, Persia was forced to flee.

But Persia regrouped and faced Alexander once more. This time it was a rout from the beginning, and Persia was forced to flee.

Is Persia regrouping once more?

These idiots should be careful what they support. It is just possible that some of their people might be thinking "Hmmmm, if the Pallies are so oppressed by a foreign religion, what about us??"

"Calling for" something assumes it's not a reality now.

Islam has been fighting this proxy war with Isreal since it's inception.

It sure is easy to call for someone else to do all the fighting. Arabs are content to use the Palestinians as long as it suits their propaganda needs. If they believe in the cause so much, any one of the Arab countries could provide a homeland for those wretched fools.

Palestinians have about as much chance to takeover Israel as the Cherokee nation to take back Georgia.
