10. They will be huge underdogs (see Pittsburgh)
9. Georgia Frantiere is already getting measured for her huge rings (see also Bill Cowher ordering Hotel rooms for New Orleans)
8. The last game they lost (and barely) was against St. Louis, back when Brady was still green
7. Coach Belichick is coaching his arse off, and can game plan against anybody.
6. During their 8-game run, they shut down the top running backs in the league Curtis Martin, Edgerine James, Jerome Bettis (etc)
5. St Louis will now have to prepare a gameplan against 2 Pro-Bowl quarterbacks
4. Patriot cornerbacks have shut down every Hall-Of-Fame bound recievers (Rice and Brown, plus those whiners in Pittsburgh)
3. They've dominated every game on special teams, and make big plays
2. They have few, if any, stars. What they have is discipline, like the Marines
Which brings me to my #1 reason why they'll win the Super Bowl....
They're PATRIOTS, and of all years where patriotism has come back in vogue, THIS IS IT
Is it true that a certain impeached rapist is going to have a role in the halftime show, or any other presence at the game?
I don't call extreme unsportsman like conduct "a lickin'".
Go back to the tape and look at 3 face masks, 1 ripping the helmet off by the face mask, 13 elbows or forearms in pile ons, etc (and that's just Faulk)and I can't believe you can hold your head up. You might also check the very first plays of the game when one of the idiots kept pounding on Little while he was down and the play was over. (it's on the tape) It's a game not war.
If you can't win by following the rules, then you shouldn't be playing the game.
Don't look.
Show us that rule. Please.
Why the stink? Because Bledsoe sucks and plays like he has cinderblocks tied to his feet. He was losing game after game for us and not MOVING. Fans here were sick of it and saw the very mobile and crafty Michael Bishop as the solution. However, it takes more than mobility to play QB in the NFL. And that stands for 'Not For Long' if you don't have ALL the tools.
You don't have to sell me. I was one of the people screaming for Bishop. It was exactly what the Pats needed at the time and I couldn't understand why Bill B. didn't see it. The season was already in the tank at that point and they needed something to shake 'em up a bit.
Bottom line is that Bledsoe was worth a lot of dough and Krafty Bob most likely let Bill know that he didn't want all that money sitting on the bench.
I wish they'd given Bishop a chance. He has an awesome arm. But his style simply isn't pro-style q'back. I wish some pro team would go to an option ground offense. I'd love to see what would happen.
Amen to that! It sometimes gets real lonely here, in west Texas. 8-)
Regards
I've wondered that myself. I'd love to see the 'veer' offense that Tennesee used years ago adopted in the NFL by some team.
But the fact is that the 'option' offense is too easily defended at the pro level not to mention the beating it puts on a QB, because he has to read the defensive tackle while the ball is in the first running back's 'pocket'. He has to be willing (and able) to take the hit if he hands the ball of for the dive. Also, linebackers are very fast and can read a play instantly. The only thing that would add enough of a variable into the equation would be someone like Michael Bishop at the outside or trailing half back position. Then you don't know if he's going to throw the ball and that is just enough to freeze the linebackers from coming up into the flat and attacking the ball. But then you'd need a QB that can run and Bledsoe wasn't it, so there goes that argument.
Then you know what it's like being a Conservative in Massachusetts.
Cordially,
Saying that Warner is "very capable" is an understatement that has me wearing a silly grin, chances are. It is a great offensive line, but Warner is also one of the very best readers with the quickest of releases, and THE most accurate passer I personally have EVER seen. Plus, he's smart, he's got guts, and he's as tough as nails. He's got character. He is a winner.
Cordially,
