Suspects' Families Protest in Bosnia
By AIDA CERKEZ-ROBINSON, Associated Press Writer
SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) - About 100 supporters of six Algerian terrorism suspects in U.S. custody protested in Bosnia on Friday, kneeling in the snow to pray for the men and demanding to know where they had been taken.
Chanting ``God is great,'' the wives, children and friends of the Arab suspects gathered in front of the government building in the capital, Sarajevo, laid their coats on the snow and prayed for the return of the suspects.
``We are demanding rights for our husbands,'' said Anela Belkacem, the wife of one of the suspects, Bensayah Belkacem. ``There is no proof against them and we don't even know for sure where they are.''
Bosnian authorities handed the group over to U.S. authorities Jan. 18, ignoring a ruling by the country's highest court that they be released.
U.S. officials have declined to say formally where the men were taken. U.S. defense officials in Afghanistan said on Monday that the six were aboard a plane that left Kandahar airport for the 8,000-mile flight to Guantanamo Bay.
Human rights groups have condemned the handover, arguing that proper judicial procedures were not followed.
Police arrested the men three months ago after U.S. intelligence indicated they were planning to attack the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo and the U.S. military base in the northeastern city of Tuzla.
One suspect, Bensayah Belkacem, is accused of making several phone calls to one of Osama bin Laden's aides - Abu Zubaydah, the operations chief of al-Qaida in Afghanistan. U.S. intelligence monitored one of the phone calls and alerted the Bosnian police.
Police later said it found numerous blank passports of Western European countries in Belkacem's house.
NOT TRUE! I know several Armenian-Americans whose grandparents and great-grandparents are survivors of the Armenian genocide, and there were also good American and German witnesses who published accounts of the whole thing. Whole villages of Armenian men, women, and children were driven into the Syrian desert to die, or slaughtered outright!!!
The Turk state slaughtered 1.5 million Armenian Christians!!! Then, after the war, they turned around and wiped out the great majority of Greek Christians in Asia Minor, whose communities were far older than any Turk occupation of what is now Turkey. Later "cleansings" and murders of Greeks continued at various times later in the 20th century, usually in conjunction with the conflict over Cyprus.
Denying these things is the equivalent of Holocaust denial!!! Many muslims these days are guilty of denying both the Jewish and Armenian and Greek genocides, because they want to finish the job on both Jews and Balkan and Middle Eastern Christians without any pangs of conscience whatsoever!!!
I find your neo-Confederate musings interesting, especially since there is a group of US pseudo-intellectual muslim shills that accuses Serbian and pro-Serbian Americans of being linked with neo-Confederate groups!!!! In your case, you claim that it is muslim separatists and expansionists that are linked with the neo-Confederate cause!!!
However, Confederate heroes such as Johnston, Lee, Stonewall Jackson, etc. should not be compared to mingy savages such as the UCK/KLA and the Chechen bandits. That dishonors BOTH the Confederate and Union causes!!!!
However, I do know, that despite the fact that Arabic-speaking Christians refer to God as "Allah", the Allah of the Quran does not have the same character as the God of the Bible.
The God of the Bible is a God who suffers, loves, and gets intimately involved with his people. This is true for BOTH the Old and New Testament--for a graphic Old Testament example, see the book of Hosea. Of course, the ultimate example of this is the birth, life, death on the cross, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In contrast, the Quranic Allah is above suffering, does not love in a personal way, and MOST CERTAINLY never did anything like the Incarnation!! The Quran is also full of threats about hell, which are much, much rarer in the Bible!
I HIGHLY DOUBT that our God and the Quranic Allah are the same God. If "Allah" is not our one true God, then who is he? I'll let you draw your own conclusion.
The God of the Bible is a God who suffersThen read the old testament.
...see the book of Hosea.
There are many other examples of God's suffering in the Old Testament (and even God changing his mind), but Hosea is perhaps the most graphic.
