Public school did well by me in grade school "back then". The one year I went to a small rural public high school, I got a very poor grounding in geometry -- which affected my spatial visualization when it came to analytic geometry later on. The other 3 yrs. of hs and University were Catholic and solid academically.

But then the teachers had to drill, drill, drill -- and I think the secret is: it is more boring to them than to the kids. Plus, without inventing new theories in graduate schools of education (like fuzzy math), what would those profs. publish? They might, well, perish! ;)

Great eye-opener for many. Kudos to ABC for getting a new group of children togther, to be asked the same questions, that the parents of first group said were "coaxed" from their kids mouths. And the parents were PRESENT when it was taped.

Yes, people need to realize that we have to support rural and small town America. Not only on political issues, but by supporting their livelihoods.

We need to support them for their economic well being which means our economic well being, their political life which often parallels our political life.

Then, last but not least, we have a moral responsibility to support American Citizens when the Green Nazis try ethnic rural cleansing on these fellow Americans!
