I find that quite offensive, in the same manner I would find it offensive if he came out and said "it's as if Osama aborted 3000 children from his womb in one day".

A mockery of all who could be alive today, but are not.

Evil resides in every human heart. It is a universal condition, not a condition of foreigners only.

To put the evil of September 11, in which 3000 people died, in perspective:

1) each day around 4000 American children die as a result of abortion; that's over 1 WTC attack each day, every day, for 29 years. Total: around 40,000,000

2) each month around 5000 Iraqi children die as a result of sanctions; that's over 1 WTC attack a month, every month, for 10 years. Total: at least 500,000

Question: Consider the three numbers, 3000, 500,000, and 40,000,000. Which tragedy incurs the greatest wrath from America? Which tragedy incurs the greatest wrath from Almighty God?

Perhaps I'm not understanding you. Are you taking offense because the WTC victims were somehow "worth more" than mere aborted fetuses? That's, at least, what seems to offend you.

With respect to the other freepers, Keyes point was this: the "innocent" died at the hands of someone(s) who put other values above that of human life. In both cases, Osama or a aborting "mother", that is true.

There's no mockery there at all. It's simple truth. In one case you have a person rationalizing to kill "innocent" life be it due to foreign policy, depravity and immorality, because his "god" said so, etc. In the other case you have a person rationalizing to kill innocent life due to social inconvenience, economic pressures, fear of the burden of motherhood, etc.

He said it didn't matter the justification for this taking of innocent life, even claiming Allah told you to do it. One male panelist suggested Osama's right came from Allah as if somehow claiming "my diety made me do it" meant no person could deprive you of a right to take an innocent life when you claim such authority. Obviously he was trying to draw a parallel with the pro-abortion line that "choice is between a woman and her god."

Regarding abortion, economic convenience as justification was suggested by one of the other 'common folk'. The pro-abort woman in the discussion literally suggested in some cases because the mother can't afford a nice home to raise it in, the child is better off [not having been born]. It was painful to see the look on her face when she knew how even she couldn't finish her sentence. She went quiet, I presume, out of shame.

I suggest reading the transcript. The program was really quite good.
