Actually, neither one was what Jeff & I were doing a few nights ago.... at the firehouse.com site was a page- actually 11 pages- of links to FD websites. Many of the sites have an "email us" button, which when you hit it, pops up your email program ( assuming you have one installed on your PC ) with the address already filled in.
To make a link inside this email, you need an extra browser ( hit control-n when your main browser is up & running to load a second browser ) running with the page you wish to make the link to on it.
I may not be explaining this well; the dog's trying to kill a fly in the kitchen, my wife's needing minor nursing care ( aftermath of plate in neck ), etc.- let me try it this way:
1- get one browser ( call it "A" ) up for "where you wish to go to" ( like firehouse.com or another site.
2- call up the 2nd browser ( call it "B" ), get it on the page you want to link to... like Jeff's petition.
3- use "A" to go to a site with an Email Button, hit it, and when your blank email appears, go to "B" and click on the "address" box- it will darken, and hit control-c to copy this. Go back to the email, and in the main body for your message, point anf hit control-v.... this will paste a clickable link inside the email. You can title it manually, or go back to "B" and cut & paste the title from that. Send the email with whatever subject, comments, etc., you like.....
I gotta run, wife & dog are driving me batty.... minor tip, print these instructions- it's easier that way..... I'll be back in the AM, any questions, drop me a note- JR
