Director Altman: 'Americans Are Full of It!'The director of such movie classics as "M.A.S.H." and "Nashville" doesn't think much of the country that made him rich and famous, especially in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Robert Altman, who's now in London making his next flick "Gosford Park,", is telling just about any British reporter who will listen how much he hates the U.S. - and especially President Bush.
"We've got a president who won the election because of accountants and money men," he said in a magazine interview previewed last week in London's Express newspaper.
"We've got a war going on to protect their oil interests," the celebrated moviemaker continued complaining. "Wherever you go in America there is nothing but flags. The Americans are so full of it."
The director continued his rant in the Times of London yesterday, bellyaching, "When I see an American flag flying, it's a joke,"
"This present government in America I just find disgusting, the idea that George Bush could run a baseball team successfully - he can't even speak! I just find him an embarrassment."
Altman's comments to the Times were picked up by the New York Post Tuesday, which also noted that Altman's anti-American feeling is so strong, he's thinking of moving to London for good.
"I'd be very happy to stay here. There's nothing in America that I would miss at all," the Bush-bashing movieman concluded.

I suspect that many hollywood types are really pissed about Americans' showing pride in their country. Altman needs to be boycotted and his US citizenship revoked.

And to think the "foreign press" gave this greaseball a Golden Globe for "Best Director," instead of Ron Howard, whose "Beautiful Mind" won everything else.

If anyone hates America, it follows that he would also hate George Bush. George Bush is the quintessence of America--the American Dream and the American Spirit.

Boycott Altman films. Are there any out now?
To: truther
He can just stay in England. Or he could come right back over here, spout that hateful crap, and meet a lynch mob composed of flag waving Americans.
I saw a preview for Gosford Park last night. I said ( last night ) that it sounds like my kind of movie.
Now I'm going to have to miss it, because Robert Altman is scum.

Well, Robert Altman is an American...and he is full of it.

"Robert Altman, who's now in London making his next flick "Gosford Park,"... The credibility of this article is immediately called into question over this statement - which should come as a great surprise to members of the Hollywood Furrin' Press Association, who awarded Gosford Park a Golden Globe award.
Needless to say, the movie has been done for months now, yet this piece of trash is posted as if it's today's news. Sorry. Ain't buyin it.

No wonder so many of his movies are aesthetically incoherent.
To: truther
Some Americans are full of it. Had to happen. Hollywood keeps feeding it to them, and they keep eating it up.

These people who say that this war is all about oil, were they in comas on September 11 or what?

I don't like the statements Altman made but I believe he has the right to say them...remember? Speak with the pocketbook and don't see his movies. I know I won't.

I rarely go to movies. Maybe once a year at the most. I really wanted to see Gosford Park. I guess I'll have to reconsider. Do I want to do anything that could possibly enhance this turd's life in any way, even as insignificant as buying a ticket to his movie?
To: truther
Robert Altman is an insignigicant piece of bug excrement. He deserves to live in England. Thanks for the reminder not to see any of his sorry efforts at moviemaking/propagandizing.

HMMMMM...Bush (and America) must be doing something RIGHT!!!!

""This present government in America I just find disgusting, the idea that George Bush could run a baseball team successfully - he can't even speak!" I saw Altman at the Golden Glob Awards on Sunday night - and that line about Bush not being able to speak is certainly a pot calling the kettle black. Altman fumbled and mumbled his way in as incoherent a fashion as anyone else there who depends on a script for sustenance. If there's anyone who cannot speak, it's Altman.
I suspect that if there really is any truth to these quotes from Altman, that they're many many months old. No one with a shred of credibiity could make any of those statements today.

MASH has just been released on DVD. DO NOT BUY IT! Tell your friends not to buy it. Make it the most undersold DVD in the history of entertainment!
