Baptist? I ask due to the fact that you gave the_doc a good Baptist eternal security answer in 578. (BTW, both the_doc and myself are Baptists, so I do not say this to be negative.)

Am I a Baptist? No; I am a creation of God and because I made a decision to accept Jesus as my Savior, I am a Christian. The name on the outside of a church building tells me almost nothing about what goes on inside (there are a few exceptions to this generalization).

The particular church I go to means nothing in regard to my Salvation or eternal security. FYI, Baptists aren't the only people who believe in eternal security.

BTW, telling me you are a 'Baptist' tells me very little, given the vast number of churches that are 'Baptist', yet can have very different doctrines.

Re. 594.

Sorry to touch a raw nerve. I was trying to find a little common ground, but it looks as if I failed miserably. Yes, there are some groups who hold to eternal security that are not Baptist, but the vast majority of them hold to a reformed theology. It is a rare (non-Baptist) bird who believes in eternal security and is not an absolute-predestinarian.
