A photo of the murdered infant offered to the *family*? Dr. Mengele move over, you've got competition.
I do not like pictures that depict the results of violence. Horribly burned auto crash victims, burglars with their face shot off, mangled body parts from 9/11 victims, mangled children in school bus accidents, aborted babies...you get the picture.
Should we publicly display bodies of auto crash victims to make people drive safer?
Should we publicly display burglars with their faces' shot off to stop burglary?
Should we publicly display pictures of mangled children in school bus accidents in an attempt to get safer busses?
Should we publicly display pictures of the mangled bodies of the 9/11 victims to help fight terrorism?
Should we publicly display pictures of aborted babies to stop abortions?
Thanks for the thought provoking, sober, and absolutely correct reminder.
You can't be pro-life if you advocate killing anyone outside of judicial process.
Shalom.
Abortion IS violence. What is it you do not understand, hon?
Very ghoulish.
So who buys these "specimens" and what do they do with them?
What part of "I do not like pictures that depict the results of violence" did you not understand?
Let's try it this way:
I do not like pictures the depict the results of (abortion which is) violence.
Does the clarify things for you (hon)?
Yes, if is done outside of the legal system, it is murder. It is murder which is punishable by death in many states.
With that in mind, it's important, imo, to show the reality of something so terribly horrific...so it would not happen again.
Refer to my post #142. We differ in opinion on this subject.
Do you believe we should publish the pictures the mangled or burned bodies of car accident victims in our local newspapers and TV - so people will not drink and drive?
Abortion = Violence
The photos depict the reality of abortion. They *should* be shown in order to shock people into reality rather than living in denial.
The subject to which you originally responded to (#142) is about the public display of pictures depicting violence.
At this point we have drawn clear lines between our personal philosophies. You think the public display of pictures depicting violence works a deterrent. I do not. I think such pictures degrade the cause and the reputations of the cause's supporters. What is worse is that they degrade the reputations of all the supporters of the cause, not just those that are in favor of the public display of pictures depicting the violence.
What about mandatory ultra sounds for those seeking abortion? Ultra sounds depict life in the womb.
I do not think it will do much good, but who knows?
A woman going into have an abortion has already made up her mind. I think the chances of her changing her mind once she is in the clinic are very slim to none. If she suspects that the motive behind the mandatory scan is to change her mind, she will just close her eyes and mind.
You are looking at it from your point of view, not hers. Put yourself in hers shoes with her mind set. Look at it this way:
If you were forced to watch a NEA video about the horrible dangers of home schooling before you were allowed to home school, would it make any difference to you? Would you be watching the video with an open mind knowing the NEA's only motive is keep you from home schooling?
There's hardly a commonality between abortion and homeschooling. You obviously know nothing about homeschooling either. whew!
You went to have an abortion and decided against it because of an ultra sound at the clinic? If your answer is "no" you have not been in her shoes any more than I have. You may have thought about having an abortion but I doubt if you were in the same situation we were talking about.
You seem to lack the ability to empathize with someone else.
Don't you think the NEA would like to force all potential home schoolers to watch a video on the dangers of home schooling? I read in another thread here on FR that the NEA was dead set against home schooling. The force video is exactly the same mindset as the forced ultrasound.
I will go back to my original response: If you can make the forced ultrasound happen, give it a try. It might work but I doubt it. I think it has great potential for backfiring on you.
