Tiller says he preforms free abortions during the year that aren't publicized, and has signed up for the Sedgwick County program offering free health care for disadvantaged people. A first trimester abortion costs about $325.00.
His announcement of the free abortions has galvanized anti-abortion forces, who say people from around the country have called to say they plan to come to Wichita today to for protests and vigils outside his clinic.
"Abortions are not something to hand away like candy at Halloween, abortions are not something like free baloons at a circus," said Troy Newman one of the national leaders for Operation Save America. "Abortions are killing children. Wake up, wake up."
El Dorado pastor Daniel Thompson said abortion opponents are appealing to the people of Wichita to take a "final stand" against Tiller and his abortions.
"This is just another of one of George Tiller's publicity stunts performed at the expense of women and their babies, merely for his own personal profit," said Joan Hawkins, director of Kansans for Life. "What he is losing in revenue today he is more than making up with all the attention from the media."
This is true...Operation Rescue West sent me one of these revolting "10 % discount" coupons...it was printed in Spanish.
Abortion is a zillion dollar business that donates big bucks to Democrats. (not that I think there is anything wrong with that but the Dems always act like donations are evil so I thought I'd throw that in..) If the baby is saved Tiller doesn't get a dime---make the connection?
Isn't he a nice guy? Can you say "self-promotion"? Contrast his donations with his income to get the full picture of his motivations.
Exactly. Some protesters should bring a model of a volcano and toss baby dolls into it. Illustrate how this "celebration" is no different than a pagan ritual of savages, sacrificing babies to the idol god of self-indulgence.
Isn't this the doctor the "pro-lifers" have tried to kill?
Well, some folks are certainly trying to stop him from killing any more babies, and I'd hardly be surprised if the family members of some of the murdered infants might take matters of justice into their own hands, after picking it from the gutter where it's been abandoned by the courts.
Your speculation, or is there more?
