The truth is that not one man did more to save Jews, through word and action, public and private, than Pius XII. As evidence we have not only the contemporary historical record, but also the post-war testimony of Jews who had witnessed all. Since I cannot believe that The New Republic is that intimately tied to the grievance industry, I can only conclude that it harbors a hatred of the Church that's altogether unrelated to its wartime record.
