thank you for drawing all the lines. Let me see if I get this: You have a THEORY which says people will lose their jobs if the minwage goes up. You draw lines and show what your THEORY looks like graphically. Then you say this PROVES your THEORY.

Leave aside the fact that several STUDIES, like the one in New Jersey a few years ago, make your THEORY questionable. For my benefit, could you draw some lines for me. Start with an X & Y axis. At some point draw a horizontal line which intersects the Y axis. Let's use 4. Label that line "minwage".(I like your number.) Somewhere above "4" draw a line parallel to the first one. Lets use a variable like "Z" for the point on the Y axis. Label that line "Average minimum cost to live."

Now draw some of those cute little two-ended arrows between the 2 lines. Label that area "What the taxpayers have to pay to subsidize cheap, greedy, stingy, businesses."

Then follow the link to my fair wage primer for some real math. Also see my Nickel and Dimed Thread. Thanks, parsy.

Nothing about the above graph is "theory" but rather fact. This idea of miminum wage holds if the following assumptions are made:
