Thanks for the bump. Hopefully more people will wake up to this farce of a so-called "two" party system we have now. And the beat goes on.

What would Dubya do? Hey ... has a nice ring to it. Unfortunately, the answer is ALWAYS going to be the same: What He's Told.

Sleep tight. Who isn't sleeping like a lamb (to the slaughter) these days?
Having invited Uncle Sam into our sex lives the last thirty years, I don't think the fact he's now decided to look under the bed, shake out the blankets and x-ray our slippers in the name of Security each evening rattles anyone.
Zzzzzzzzz ...

With modern day computing power,ANY individual in the US can be instantly tracked by his purchases. If you start pissing the gooberment off,they can shut you down cold by just cancelling your debit card. No groceries,no gas,no anything. When you get hungry enough,report in to the nearest police station to get a meal.<<<<
Exactly. The safest society is a police state, and we will be safer the more control that the state has over us.
"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."
~~~Daniel Webster
. I did leave out the all time favorite often posted response as well that goes something like this "You just don't understand the political system you are a one issue voter". He has now been taught to parrot a new line that goes,"You don't know what secret plans Bush has or what secret investigations are going on it he background. He has lions and tigers,and Oh,MY!. You are a America-hater or you would not attack our wonderful president." All in all,pretty pathetic.
Hey ... has a nice ring to it. Unfortunately, the answer is ALWAYS going to be the same: What He's Told. Yup. Hey,didn't you used to be a Guild member? What was it that changed your mind,the cloning thing?
To: Travis McGee
Having invited Uncle Sam into our sex lives the last thirty years, The Republicans want to control your sex life,and the Dims want to control every OTHER aspect of your life. Either way,some SOB is trying to run your life for you.
To: tex-oma
I waver between thinking he doesn't know what he's doing, and being afraid that he does. I don't waver.
To: Squantos
Webster had a lot of good ones, he was a thinker right up with the best (Jefferson, Sam Adams, Coxe etc.)
America deserves the oncoming totalitarian police state it is clamoring for. I just wish I didn't have to be here to watch it happen. Very well said, unfortunately.
To: Travis McGee
Excellent Daniel Webster quote, Travis (post 89). Says it well, doesn't it? The founders KNEW this could happen - and everything they did to try to prevent it has come to nothing. I hope they aren't watching from Heaven. It'd break their hearts.
